This article discusses the potential of multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups to facilitate individual and institutional change. To do this, we view peer mentoring as a form of critical education praxis (Mahon et al. 2019), the purpose of which is to create a space for reflexive thinking and asking critical questions. The data were collected by interviewing all thirteen participants – doctoral students and more established scholars – of a multidisciplinary peer-mentoring pilot project. Exploring Disciplinary Boundaries between Eth-nomusicology and Cultural Musicology through My Own Ph.D. Research Project

The present paper seeks to establish the distinction (if there is any) between contemporary ethnomusicology and cultural musicology by using my own Ph.D. research project as a case study. One way to approach this task is to assess the extent to which the very topic and objectives of my Ph.D. project, as well as at the theories and methodologies used, correspond to the current tendencies in the two fields of studies. The aim of such a survey is twofold: one is to open a debate on the (im)possibility of drawing clear disciplinary boundaries, and the other is to try and position my Ph.D. research along disciplinary lines.

Domböckerna och den tidigmoderna tiden hör tätt ihop. I denna uppsats undersöks hur historiker och språkhistoriker utnyttjat domboksmaterial i sin forskning. Metoden är historiografisk och jämförande. Uppsatsen visar att historiker ofta varit intresserade av källkritiska aspekter medan språkhistoriker har intresserat sig för frågor förknippade med språklig variation och förändring. Utifrån analysen identifieras tre övergripande teman som är särskilt gynnsamma för ett tvärvetenskapligt samarbete kopplat till domboken som empirisk källa: protokollföring (precision och tillförlitlighet), berättelsenivåer (textstruktur och -mönster) och skrivare (den gemensamma aktören). Tässä artikkelissa kuvaamme tieteidenvälisen tutkimus- ja kehittämishankkeen suunnittelua ja toteutusta. Käymme läpi prosessia, jossa eri tieteenalojen tutkijat pyrkivät tuottamaan hyvinvoinnista uutta, eri menetelmiä yhteen sovittavaa tietoa, ja löytämään yhteisiä vastauksia eri alojen näkökulmasta asetettuihin kysymyksiin. Artikkelimme perustuu hankkeellemme Yhteistyöllä hyvinvointia kouluyhteisöön, joka yhdistää etnologian ja psykologian alan tutkimusta.
