Cyanobacteria possess a very high tolerance relative to environmental factors, so they can be found in almost every aquatic habitat: oceans, freshwaters, hot springs, soils and bare rocks. Nowadays these microorganisms are thought to cause the formation of intensive blooms which result from water eutrophication. In order to suppress blooms in aquatic ecosystems, it is important to limit the growth of blue-green algae, preferably using environment-friendly procedures. Vascular malformations or even hemangiomas need therapeutic intervention if they start to cause clinical symptoms or personal discomfort. Different therapeutic modalities, including cryotherapy, corticosteroids, laser therapy, sclerotherapy, surgery, and/or embolization, can be performed successfully. Sclerotherapy with monoethanolamine is a relatively simple and effective method to treat low flow vascular lesions. Hopeaklustereiden synteesimenetelmät on jaoteltu liuoksessa tehtyihin synteeseihin, kiinteässä olomuodossa tehtyihin synteeseihin ja templaattisynteeseihin. Abstract One-step absolute solvent-free acid-catalyzed mechanical depolymerization of pine sawdust (PSD) and commercially available α-cellulose to water-soluble sugars was carried out using ball milling. For comparison purposes, the commonly reported “solvent-free” mechanocatalytic depolymerization of lignocellulose method, which normally involves three steps (acid impregnation in solvent, vacuum drying, and mechanical depolymerization of lignocellulose), was performed. Background & Aims: Obesity-associated inflammation is a key player in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the role of macrophage scavenger receptor 1 (MSR1, CD204) remains incompletely understood. Methods: A total of 170 NAFLD liver biopsies were processed for transcriptomic analysis and correlated with clinicopathological features. Msr1(-/-) and wild-type mice were subjected to a 16-week high-fat and high-cholesterol diet. Mice and ex vivo human liver slices were treated with a monoclonal antibody against MSR1.
