"Le Train pour Hollywood de Radoslaw Piwowarski" (1987) ou comment devenir une star à l'image de Marilyn Monroe

2019

Our analysis focuses on the symbolism of Marilyn Monroe in the context of the Polish cinema of the end of communism and the desires and fantasies it arouses. Drawing on the Polish representation of Hollywood's star in the Polish film Train to Hollywood, directed by Radoslaw Piwowarski in 1987, we propose here a reflection on the femininity, but also the theatrical and subversive dimension of Eros.

Tre volte Marilyn: grazie e destino di una diva ‘‘moderna’’

2019

Il saggio si occupa dell'ultimo film interpretato da Marilyn Monroe prima di morire, Gli Spostati The Misfits (Huston, 1961) is the last film interpreted by Marilyn Monroe. The film is a precious observation point to analyze the triple figure of Marilyn Monroe: the character, the actress, the woman. The Misfits is the clear attempt to deconstruct the image of a diva, through the crisis of her own character. This is the condensed artistic and creative parable of Marilyn Monroe and, simultaneously, the most obvious sign of the end of the great Hollywood film industry.

Michael Monroe on otollinen tutkimuskohde, sillä hänen ainutlaatuinen ja rohkea heteronormatiivisia rajoja rikkova tyylinsä on tuonut esille miehuuden feminiinisen puolen.

The anthology entitled The New Poetry, which was published in 1917 by Harriet Monroe and Alice Corbin Henderson, faithfully reflects the construct of a poetics established upon the reappraisal of the constraints set by meter and rhyme, as in the example of free verse. However, while celebrating avenues to experiment, the anthology brings to light the limitations of the myth of formal autonomy in a cultural climate shap…

Planches de salut : (trans)figurations théâtrales de Marilyn

2019

Article en accès libre sur le site de l'éditeur.; International audience; Marilyn Monroe, an actress on its own, did well on theatre as well. She was indeed the heroin of numerous plays, and was « embodied » by various actresses. What is the point of putting a film star on the boards? Is it to offer her some kind of artistic redemption? What about her charismatic and so well-known body, thus transferred into another one, living, and offered anew to renewed male and female gazes?
