Experimental study of Morris-Lecar neuron : design, coupling and interpretation

We present in this manuscript an experimental electronic neuron based on complete Morris-Lecar model without simplifications, able to become an experimental unit tool to study collective association of robust coupled neurons. The circuit design is given in details according to the ionic currents of this model. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical prediction, leading to a good agreement between them, which therefore validates the circuit. We present the different areas according to the bifurcation control parameters, the membrane capacitance and the excitation current. The moresca, and the related forms of weapon dance, either spread in the Mediterranean basin or in several countries of Central and Southern Europe, was a kind of 16-century choreography. Born as a battle between Saracens and Christian knights, this dance inspired different kinds of mimic spectacle that served as a part of comedies and pastoral plays. Statistical analysis of latency outcomes in behavioral experiments

In experimental designs of animal models, memory is often assessed by the time for a performance measure to occur (latency). Depending on the cognitive test, this may be the time it takes an animal to escape to a hidden platform (water maze), an escape tunnel (Barnes maze) or to enter a dark component (passive avoidance test). Latency outcomes are usually statistically analyzed using ANOVAs. Besides strong distributional assumptions, ANOVA cannot properly deal with animals not showing the performance measure within the trial time, potentially causing biased and misleading results. Identité et espace chez André Brink: Looking on Darkness, Rumours of Rain et Imaginings of Sand

This article explores André Brink's conception of identity in terms of space. Examining three novels which all revolve around a first-person narrator exploring his/her own identity, Looking on Darkness, Rumours of Rain and Imaginings of Sand, it shows that Brink's conception of identity is both spatial and familial: characters try to become "rooted" in South African soil, but this rooting process is achieved only in the post-apartheid novel, Imaginings of Sand. A brief comparison with Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon tries to shed light on the source of Brink's spatial conception of identity.
