Quercomys bijmai gen. nov. sp. nov., a new dormouse of the subfamily Myomiminae, is described from the Oligocene/Miocene Boundary Interval of Santa Cilia (Huesca), Quel-1 and Fuenmayor-2 (La Rioja). Quercomys gen. nov. is characterized by its medium size, its hypsodont teeth, and its simple dental pattero. It is related to other genera, like Praearmantomys, Armantomys or Pseudodryomys , and its appearance is at a moment of high diversity of the family.

Tumour-suppressor genes, such as the p53 gene, produce proteins that inhibit cell division under adverse conditions, as in the case of DNA damage, radiation, hypoxia, or oxidative stress (OS). The p53 gene can arrest proliferation and trigger death by apoptosis subsequent to several factors. In astrocytes, p53 promotes cell-cycle arrest and is involved in oxidative stress-mediated astrocyte cell death. Orthotopic bladder cancer xenografts are essential for testing novel therapies and molecular manipulations of cell lines in vivo. Current xenografts rely on tumor cell inoculation by intravesical instillation or direct injection into the bladder wall. Instillation is limited by the lack of cell lines that are tumorigenic when delivered in this manner. The aim of this study was to determine if Rituximab coated Biodegradable Nanoparticles (BNPs) loaded with Chlorambucil and Hydroxychloroquine could induce apoptosis of B-Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (B-CLL), MEC-1 and BJAB cells in vitro and evaluate their toxic and therapeutic effects on a Human/Mouse Model of Burkitt Lymphoma at an exploratory, proof of concept scale. We found that Rituximab-Chlorambucil-Hydroxychloroquine BNPs induce a decrease in cell viability of malignant B cells in a dose-dependent manner. Two new cell lines from stomach cancers and one from a pancreatic carcinoma are presented. MZ-GC-1 was established from a hepatic metastasis of a well differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma. MZ-GC-2 was derived from ascites induced by a poorly differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma. MZ-PC-1 originated from the pleural effusion of a moderately well differentiated pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. MZ-GC-1 cells were adherent and partially polarized, connected tightly via desmosomes. In contrast MZ-GC-2 cells consisted of slightly adherent or floating subpopulations and displayed no desmosomes. Three human cell lines from adenocarcinomas of the extrahepatic biliary tract were established in permanent tissue culture. Mz-ChA-1 and Mz-ChA-2 were cultured from mechanically dissociated gallbladder adenocarcinoma metastases and SK-ChA-1 was grown from malignant ascites of a patient with primary adenocarcinoma of the extrahepatic biliary tree. Cell doubling times in tissue culture are 3-4 days for Mz-ChA-1 and approximately 2 days for Mz-ChA-2 and SK-ChA-1. Many solid tumors disturbances in the vascularization and in the microcirculation generally lead to distinct restrictions in the convective and diffusive transport. Spectral acquisitions contain rich information and thus, are promising modalities for early detection of gastric diseases. In this study, we analyze the diffuse reflectance of the gastric inflammatory lesions induced by the bacterium H. pylori in the mouse stomach. A pipeline has been designed to characterize and classify spectra acquired on mice. The pipeline is based on a band clustering algorithm followed by the computation of meaningful division and subtraction features and by classification with a linear SVM classifier. Currently, the pipeline is able to recognize inflamed stomach's spectra with an accuracy of 98%. These results are promising and the same pipeline could be adapted for …
