Thermo-setting glass ionomer cements promote variable biological responses of human dental pulp stem cells.

To evaluate the in vitro cytotoxicity of Equia Forte (GC, Tokyo, Japan) and Ionostar Molar (Voco, Cuxhaven, Germany) on human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs).hDPSCs isolated from third molars were exposed to several dilutions of Equia Forte and Ionostar Molar eluates (1/1, 1/2 and 1/4). These eluates were obtained by storing material samples in respective cell culture medium for 24h (n=40). hDPSCs in basal growth culture medium were the control. Cell viability and cell migration assays were performed using the MTT and wound-healing assays, respectively. AbstractAdvances in structural and biochemical properties of carmovirus movement proteins (MPs) have only been obtained in p7 and p9 from Carnation mottle virus (CarMV). Alignment of carmovirus MPs revealed a low conservation of amino acid identity but interestingly, similarity was elevated in regions associated with the functional secondary structure elements reported for CarMV which were conserved in all studied proteins. Natural micro-scale heterogeneity induced solute and nanoparticle retardation in fractured crystalline rock.

Abstract We studied tracer (Tritiated Water (HTO); Tritium replaces one of the stable hydrogen atoms in the H 2 O molecule) and nanoparticle (quantum dots (QD)) transport by means of column migration experiments and comparison to 3D CFD modeling. Concerning the modeling approach, a natural single fracture was scanned using micro computed tomography (μCT) serving as direct input for the model generation. Strange vegetation: Emotional undercurrents of Tove Jansson’s Moominvalley in November

This article investigates the emotional undercurrents of Tove Jansson’s Moominvalley in November. I argue that one of the main characters of Jansson’s book is the autumn forest that surrounds the abandoned Moomin house. The decomposing forest is not just an emblem of the inner lives of the guests that gather in the house but is an active character itself: an ambiguous life form that creeps in the house and must be expelled from its living core. I further demonstrate that the emotion of disgust has a crucial role in Jansson’s narrative, and that an adequate analysis of the intentional content of disgust allows us to see what is at issue in the relations between the characters. Therefore, the influence of conventional photon and modern carbon ion ((12)C) irradiation on glioblastoma cell migration and on epidermal growth factor receptor-related (EGFR) signaling was investigated in vitro. A 3-D marker-free system for the analysis of movement disabilities--an application to the legs.

The aim of this paper is to describe an approach allowing the analysis of human motion in three-dimensional (3-D) space. The system that we developed is composed of three charge-coupled-device cameras that capture synchronized image sequences of a human body in motion without the use of markers. Characteristic points belonging to the boundaries of the body in motion are first extracted from the initial images. Two-dimensional superquadrics are then adjusted on these points by a fuzzy clustering process. The objective of this study was to explore the reliability and concurrent validity of the Velowin optoelectronic system to measure movement velocity during the free-weight back squat exercise.
