Durante su trayectoria vital, el escultor Emiliano Barral mantuvo una vinculación muy estrecha con el Partido Socialista. No en vano, fue autor del monumento funerario destinado a fijar una imagen canónica de su fundador, Pablo Iglesias. Sin embargo, la historiografía artística que previamente lo ha estudiado, no ha dado una respuesta precisa a la pregunta de en qué momento se inició la relación entre el artista y el líder socialista. En este artículo, aportamos una fuente documental esencial de cara a resolver dicha incógnita. Variations of vitamin D-like reactivity in the crustacean Orchestia cavimana during the molt cycle

An investigation into vitamin D-like molecules has been performed on whole extracts of the terrestrial amphipod Orchestia cavimana, using a sensitive nonequilibrium assay employing 1,25-(OH)2 D receptor from calf thymus. Relatively large amounts of these secosteroid-like molecules were observed and they varied in concentration according to the stages of the molt cycle. The amplitude of these variations reaches a ratio of about 40 from the minimum in premolt to the intermolt sharp peak.

International audience; The mobile French Guiana coast is a shoreface region downdrift of the Amazon River, where enormous quantities of inorganic and organic materials are exchanged with the Atlantic Ocean. The rapid accumulation of these materials forms highly unstable shore-attached mud banks, which can be temporally emerged and then rapidly colonized and stabilized by microphytobenthos and opportunistic mangroves (i.e. Avicennia germinans). [1] Chemical and isotopic data have been used as geochemical tracers for a genetic characterization of hydrocarbon gases from a total of eleven manifestations located in Eastern and Central-Southern Sicily (Italy). The molecular analysis shows that almost all the samples are enriched in methane (up to 93.2% Vol.), with the exception of four gas samples collected around Mt. Etna showing high mantle-derived CO2 content. Methane isotope signatures suggest that these are thermogenic gases or a mixture between thermogenic gases and microbial gases. The primary objective of this study was to examine the chemical speciation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) found in sediments endowed with different characteristics. To achieve this purpose and because the nature of the sediments influences the distribution of PAHs, we have analyzed four different types of sediments. To study the role of organic matter in the sequestration of PAHs, we fractionated humic substances into humic acids and humin–mineral fractions.
