The Middle East and sub‐Saharan African countries have been suffering by wars during last few years and therefore Europe meets new challenges that are caused by new waves of refugees, which are crossing the boarders of Europe every day. Majority of migrants is consisting of young or more than young people, forced to abandon their own homes, their own cities, their own schools. To compare cognitive processes adopted by students with different cultures in solving mathematical problems we have to focus on the Math epistemology through a cultural analysis concerning the fundamental elements of the students different cultural traditions and the philosophical, logic and linguistic bases subtended to the mathematical thought and its historical evolution. The paper describes this theoretical framework, emphasizing a possible comparison between different cognitive styles and mathematical problem solutions in the context of arithmetic and Algebraic thought of Italian and Chinese students in multicultural classes.

En este artículo queremos ofrecer un ejemplo práctico da las posibles acciones educativas desarrolladas por el profesorado de Ciencias Sociales de Secundaria en los nuevos contextos multiculturales. Éstos comprometen a todo el profesorado a buscar planteamientos pedagógicos y didácticos ajustados a los actuales escenarios socio-educativos. Así, en un ambiente social de nueva configuración, la compleja labor emprendida por el profesorado para poner en marcha prácticas educativas interculturales merece ser reconocida y valorada por nuestra sociedad democrática.

Lo scritto delinea gli elementi più significativi della casa mediterranea soprattutto nelle città del Maghreb e del Mediterraneo. La casa a corte costituisce l’elemento unificante delle città del mediterraneo, un modello abitativo che ha determinato tessuti e che si riferisce ai tracciati urbani classici. Nella casa mediterranea si associa l’idea di uno spazio esterno che fonda il senso dell’abitare in stretto rapporto con la natura. Nello spazio domestico, gli spazi dell’area e della luce interagiscono con gli spazi dell’abitazione. Riflettere sulla natura di questi spazi e importante per interrogarci sul valore dell’abitare nella città del Mediterraneo.

The interpretative paradigms and opera-tional tools of Appraisal and Valuation are therefore questioned and should be re-vised to be adopted in the appraisal practice or to support decision-making pro-cesses related to real estate market and urban, territorial and environmental plan-ning, according to a perspective of social inclusion and multiculturalism.
