Blind source separation for OFDM with filtering colored noise out

Two blind algorithms that are developed with the intention of improving the symbol detection of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) techniques are proposed in this paper. OFDM systems are easy to equalize in implementations. The schemes are based on the theories of blind source separation (BSS). They are among the premier mechanisms used for extracting unobserved signals from observed mixtures in signal processing. Anamorphic fractional Fourier transform: optical implementation and applications

1995

An additional degree of freedom is introduced to fractional-Fourier-transform systems by use of anamorphic optics. A different fractional Fourier order along the orthogonal principal directions is performed. A laboratory experimental system shows preliminary results that demonstrate the proposed theory. Applications such as anamorphic fractional correlation and multiplexing in fractional domains are briefly suggested.

Monoclonal gammopathy of ocular significance (MGOS) – a short survey of corneal manifestations and treatment outcomes

Monoclonal gammopathy of ocular significance (MGOS) is a rare subset of monoclonal gammopathy of clinical significance occurring secondary to plasma cell disorders and causing ocular manifestations. We identified 23 patients with paraproteinemic keratopathy (PPK) in the setting of monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance (MGUS, 10), smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM, 3) or multiple myeloma (MM, 10). Many of these patients with PPK (11/23) presented decreased vision. Circulating tumor and immune cells for minimally invasive risk stratification of smoldering multiple myeloma

Abstract Purpose: Early intervention in smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) requires optimal risk stratification to avoid under- and overtreatment. We hypothesized that replacing bone marrow (BM) plasma cells (PC) for circulating tumor cells (CTC), and adding immune biomarkers in peripheral blood (PB) for the identification of patients at risk of progression due to lost immune surveillance, could improve the International Myeloma Working Group 20/2/20 model. Food insecurity with hunger and sexual behavior among adolescents from 53 countries

Objectives: To examine the relationship of food insecurity with sexual intercourse, multiple sexual partners and non-condom use. Methods: Data on food insecurity (hunger) and sexual behaviors from 205,296 adolescents from 53 countries. Associations were analyzed using meta-analysis. Results: Overall, 16.0% of the adolescents ever had sexual intercourse and the prevalence of moderate and severe food insecurity was 44.9% and 6.2%, respectively. Moderate and severe food insecurity was associated with higher odds for sexual intercourse. Any food insecurity was significantly associated with condom nonuse at last sex.
