The subject of the essay is Antoon van Dyck's stay in the small town of Zaventem, on the outskirts of Brussels, where the artist painted St Martin and the Pauper together with the image of a Madonna bearing - according to tradition - the features of the painter's lover. The anecdote of the love affair, which is said to have led to the delayed departure for Italy, is the subject of particular attention in the Romantic period, as theatrical plays, artist's novels and genre paintings show.

The article discusses source materials for history o f Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Dietines, found in archival legacy o f Ludwig Gruno, Prince o f Hesse-Homburg. The documents are part o f field chancellery o f the prince, currently preserved in the Military-Historical Museum of Engineer and Signal Corps in St. Petersburg among over a thousand of letters, documents and files illustrating his achievements as commander o f Russian armies in the Caucasus and Poland in 1732-1736. The documents pertain mostly to tsarist army exacting war tribute in form o f food and feed in South- Eastern voivodeships from autumn 1734 to 1736. Classical Archeology Clashing with the World of Diplomacy: the Case of Salomon Reinach in 1881 Studies on the ties between archeology and diplomacy focus mostly on the way a few individuals reconciled a double career and realized the ideal of a hybrid figure: the diplomat as archeologist. Less attention has been paid to the relations, on a daily basis, between classical archeology and the world of consulates and embassies in the Eastern Mediterranean. Discovery of a novel state of the Jean Mignon signed etching of "Alexander gifting gold to the priests of Ammon".

There are only two known prints signed by Jean Mignon, a decorative cartouche ("Io. MIGon. 1544") and "Alexander gifting gold to the priests of Ammon" ("Io. MIGon."). Until now, the latter was known only in one state and three proofs kept at the British Musem, the Arsenal Library and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 2016 the Dole city library purchased an album of prints that contained a different state of this engravong. A close examination further shows that the British Museum proof is actually from the same state as this Dole Library print.

Students' Understanding of the Special Theory of Relativity and Design for a Guided Visit to a Science Museum

International audience; This paper describes the design of teaching materials that are used as learning tools in school visits to a science museum. An exhibition on the A century of the Special Theory of Relativity, in the Kutxaespacio Science Museum, in San Sebastian (Spain), was used to design a visit for first year engineering students at the university and assess the learning which was achieved. The first part of the paper presents the teaching sequence which was designed to build a bridge between formal teaching and the exhibition visit. Il contributo è dedicato a Ugo Zovetti (Curzola, 1879 - Milano, 1974), figura poliedrica di grande interesse che ha attraversato con originalità le arti del XX secolo distinguendosi tra i protagonisti della decorazione del libro come autore di pregevoli carte decorate. Ugo Zovetti fu un esponente della Secessione Viennese che ebbe larga parte nella diffusione del gusto secessionista e della Wiener Werkstätte in Italia, dove si affermò nel campo della decorazione durante gli anni dedicati all’insegnamento nella sede dell’ISIA di Monza.
