Regional concentration of university graduates : The role of high school grades and parental background

In this paper, we analyse long-term changes in the regional distribution and migration flows of university graduates in Finland and Sweden. This study is based on detailed longitudinal population register data, including information on high school grades and parental background. We find a distinct pattern of skill divergence across regions in both countries over the last 3 decades. The uneven distribution of human capital has been reinforced by the mobility patterns of university graduates, for whom regional sorting by high school grades and parental background is evident. This chapter focuses on the experience of undocumented college students in the USA. While K‐12 education has been opened to undocumented students, at least on paper, since the landmark case Plyler vs. Doe, college education remains a highly precarious terrain for undocumented students, which offers little to no legal protection. Within the United States, the situation of undocumented college students differs greatly among individual states. Students' Positive Expectations and Concerns Prior to the School Transition to Lower Secondary School

This mixed-method study examines students' expectations and concerns before transitioning from primary to lower secondary school and the role of students' school-related wellbeing and self-esteem in their concerns. Students reported their beliefs about the forthcoming school transition and filled in a questionnaire assessing school burnout and self-esteem. The results showed that the students had positive expectations comprising comfort, friendships, learning, school environment, increased freedom and teacher -student relations. Hankkeeni tavoitteena on laatia koulumme ohjaussuunnitelmalle runkoa ja tehdä valmistelevaa työtä ohjaussuunnitelmaa varten. Tämä työ ei siis ole varsinainen ohjaussuunnitelma. Tässä työssä kartoitetaan ja kirjataan ylös kaikki ohjaustoiminta mitä Vehkalahden koulussa toteutetaan eri toimijoiden taholta tällä hetkellä. Hankkeen tarkoitus on avata mahdollisimman selkeästi näkyville tämän hetkinen tilanne kokonaisuudessaan ja selvittää toiminnan kehittämistarpeet. This exploratory mixed data study investigated the role of technology in adult migrant language and late literacy education in Finland. In addition to an online pre-pandemic survey targeted at Finnish language and literacy teachers, four in-service teachers were interviewed during the COVID-19 pandemic in late 2020.
