Hiilidioksidipitoisuuden kasvu ilmakehässä on tärkein syy antropogeeniseen ilmastonmuutokseen, ja nopeita toimia tarvitaan, jotta maapallon keskilämpötilan nousu saataisiin rajattua 2 °C asteeseen. Hiilidioksidipitoisuuden lisääntyminen johtuu muun muassa fossiilisten polttoaineiden käytöstä ja metsäpinta-alan pienenemisestä. Robot acceptance model for care (RAM-care) : A principled approach to the intention to use care robots

Robots are emerging in welfare services, and organizations require information on whether novel technologies are approved among staff. On the basis of technology acceptance theories, this study proposes a model that adds a principled approach to the intention to use care robots. Data of 544 professionals with care robot experience were collected. The use intention was predicted by usefulness, enjoyment, social influence, and attitude. Respondents who found robots useful and accepted by their colleagues were more likely to view robot use as consistent with their personal values. Prejudice toward American Muslims: An integrated threat analysis

This study explores prejudice toward American Muslims. Prejudice is conceptualized using Stephan and Stephan’s integrated threat theory (ITT). ITT identifies four kinds of threat that can lead to prejudice: realistic threats, symbolic threats, stereotypes, and intergroup anxiety. Data were gathered in the United States (N = 281) among self-identified Christians. Findings confirm: 1) a positive correlation between real and symbolic threats, and stereotypes, 2) increased contact with an immigrant group, in this case Muslims, is negatively correlated with perceptions of real and symbolic threat, and 3) levels of prejudice differ based on level of education. The effect of education on migration: evidence from school reform

A polytechnic, higher education reform took place in Finland in the 1990s. It gradually transformed former vocational colleges into polytechnics and expanded higher education to all Finnish regions. We implement instrumental variables estimators that exploit the exogenous variation in the regional availability of polytechnic education together with matriculation exam scores. Our IV results show that polytechnic graduates have a higher migration probability than those of vocational college graduates. Tämän analyysin keskeinen tutkimuskysymys on, missä aluekehityksessä mennään Suomessa. Analyysissa tarkastellaan suomalaisessa aluekehitystutkimuksessa saatuja tuloksia ja eritellään sekä aluekehityksen pitkää linjaa että sen viimeaikaista luonnetta kahden keskeisen määrittäjän, väestö- ja tulotietojen avulla.
