Background External ophtalmomyiasis (EOM) is a zoonosis related to the presence of Oestrus ovis larvae at the ocular level in small ruminants (i.e. ovine, caprine). In humans, EOM is a rare cosmopolitan disorder, mostly described in warm and dry rural areas in patients living close to livestock areas. In metropolitan France (excluding Corsica), EOM is an exceptional disease with less than 25 cases recorded since 1917. Case presentation We report a case of EOM in a 19-years old man in the last week of September 2016 in Burgundy. Abstract Myiasis is the infestation of live vertebrates with arthropod larvae of the order Diptera. The increase in the number of tourists in endemic areas, with the appearance of new cases in risk-free geographical areas, has increased the interest of doctors in knowing the insects that cause myiasis. The most common cases of myiasis are found in tropical and subtropical areas, the temperate zone being of interest in the warm season. Myiasis with Dermatobia hominis in a Sicilian traveller returning from Peru

Summary We report a case of a bot fly infestation of the scalp. A 45-year-old man after returning to Sicily noted a small white “worm” erupting from the upper lesion. Physical examination revealed a superficial furuncular lesion with central pores with sero-sanguineous discharge. The foreign body identified was diagnosed as the larva of the human bot fly, Dermatobia hominis.

Oral Myiasis is a rare pathology in humans and is associated with poor oral hygiene, alcoholism, senility, supuranting lesions, severe halitosis and others conditions. The treatment is a mechanical removal of the maggots one by one but a systemic treatment with Ivermectin, a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic, have been used for treatment for oral myiasis. We present a case report of a 32-year-old man indigent, alcohol-dependent with an extensive necrotic area and acute swelling in upper lip and fetid odor. This case report added Myiasis is a parasitic disease that affects humans and other vertebrates. A rare condition in humans, myiasis is a worldwide phenomenon, with a higher incidence being observed in tropical and subtropical regions. Oral myiasis is rarely observed in children, is uncommon in the oral cavity, more specifically periodontal tissue. This uncommon condition is more prevalent in tropical and subtropical American and others country where low socioeconomic conditions, residence in rural areas, mental deficiency and precarious hygiene conditions. This case reports a reality of a child with cerebral palsy in a Public Hospital in São Luis, Ma, Brasil.

Myiasis is a rare condition caused by the invasion of tissues by the larvae of flies, mainly from the order of Diptera. Many cases of myiasis involving various human organs have been reported. Oral Myiasis is very rare in healthy persons. It occurs mainly in the tropics and is usually associated with inadequate personal and public hygiene; sometimes accompanied by poor manual dexterity. We present a case of oral myiasis in a mentally retarded, 13- year-old boy suffering with cerebral palsy. Oral myiasis in mentally challenged patient: a case report

Myiasis is the infestation of live human and vertebrate animal with Dipterous larvae which feed on host’s dead or living tissue. This condition is a result of neglected approach towards oral hygiene along with mental and physical challenges of patient. A case of oral myiasis in the maxillary anterior region in an 18 years old female with neurologic defi-cit caused by the larvae (maggots) is reported. The management consists of manual removal of larvae by topical application of turpentine oil, oral therapy with Ivermectin and surgical debridement of oral wound.
