Empirical mode decomposition and neural network for the classification of electroretinographic data

The processing of biosignals is increasingly being utilized in ambulatory situations in order to extract significant signals' features that can help in clinical diagnosis. However, this task is hampered by the fact that biomedical signals exhibit a complex behaviour characterized by strong non-linear and non-stationary properties that cannot always be perceived by simple visual examination. New processing methods need be considered. Cohen syndrome is associated with major glycosylation defects

International audience; Cohen syndrome (CS) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder with multisytemic clinical features due to mutations in the VPS13B gene, which has recently been described encoding a mandatory membrane protein involved in Golgi integrity. As the Golgi complex is the place where glycosylation of newly synthesized proteins occurs, we hypothesized that VPS13B deficiency, responsible of Golgi apparatus disturbance, could lead to glycosylation defects and/or mysfunction of this organelle, and thus be a cause of the main clinical manifestations of CS. BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the inter-observer variability of central corneal thickness measurements carried out with a non-contact specular microscope in patients who had undergone myopic laser in situ keratomileusis. Posterior chamber phakic intraocular lenses after penetrating keratoplasty.

Purpose To evaluate the efficacy, predictability, and safety of a phakic posterior chamber intraocular Collamer lens (ICL) after penetrating keratoplasty (PKP). Setting Fernandez-Vega Ophthalmological Institute, Oviedo, Spain. Methods A myopic or toric ICL was implanted after PKP in eyes unable to wear glasses or contact lenses and for which corneal laser surgery was contraindicated. Femtosecond laser for residual refractive error correction after refractive lens exchange with multifocal intraocular lens implantation.

Impact of contact lens material and design on the ocular surface.
