Trombocitozes saistība ar ne-sīkšūnu plaušu vēža pacientu demogrāfiskajiem un klīniskajiem faktoriem

Ievads. Lai gan tiek izstrādātas arvien efektīvākas ļaundabīgo audzēju agrīnas skrīninga un diagnostikas metodes, ne-sīkšūnu plaušu vēzis vēl joprojām pārsvarā tiek atklāts III vai IV stadijā, līdz ar to tas ir viens no vadošajiem audzējiem mirstības ziņā. Trombocīti piedalās vēža šūnu augšanā un tālākā izplatīšanā pa organismu. Ne-sīkšūnu plaušu vēža pacientiem bieži ir palielināts trombocītu skaits, kas ir saistīts ar sliktu prognozi. Tamdēļ, ir būtiski noskaidrot vai pastāv kādi ne-sīkšūnu plauša vēža pacienta demogrāfiskie vai klīniskie rādītāji, kam ir korelācija ar trombocitozi. Studies on Italian reservoirs

The main morphometric and water quality characteristics of the 221 Italian reservoirs covering an area of at least 0.2 km2 is given. Most of the reservoirs are used for drinking water purposes, especially on the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, where the more important cases of eutrophication have been found. These situations are examined in greater detail, with regard to algal population dynamics, the phosphorus budget and the comparison between theoretical and experimental nutrients loads. -from Authors
Positive solutions for nonlinear Robin problems

We consider a parametric Robin problem driven by the p-Laplacian with an indefinite potential and with a superlinear reaction term which does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. We look for positive solutions. We prove a bifurcation-type theorem describing the nonexistence, existence and multiplicity of positive solutions as the parameter varies. We also show the existence of a minimal positive solution $\tilde{u}_\lambda$ and establish the monotonicity and continuity of the map $\lambda\to \tilde{u}_\lambda$.
Tubal function in divers and non-divers: case control study

Background. The aim of this study was to examine whether recurrent scuba diving during the time and frequent use of Valsalva’s manoeuvre while diving, increase functionality of divers’ Eustachian Tube (ET) comparison with non-divers. Methods. The study included 30 experienced divers (G1), mean age 25,8 years, who were diving from over 10 years. The control group consisted of 30 non-divers (G2), mean age 31,3 years. Each sample underwent clinical examination to identify predisposing conditions to middle ear barotraumas and ET dysfunction.
