El objetivo de este artículo es tratar de mostrar cómo el discurso moriscófobo de una comunidad local respondía a problemas relacionados con la competencia por los recursos naturales y un planteamiento financiero. Desde abril de 1596 la villa cristiano vieja de Alcalá intentó oponerse a sus vecinos cristianonuevos de Xivert en la corte suprema del reino de Valencia. Three experiments examined children's knowledge of harmony in Western music. The children heard a series of chords followed by a final, target chord. In Experiment 1, French 6- and 11-year-olds judged whether the target was sung with the vowel /i/ or /u/. In Experiment 2, Australian 8- and 11-year-olds judged whether the target was played on a piano or a trumpet. In Experiment 3, Canadian 8- and 11-year-olds judged whether the target sounded good (i.e. consonant) or bad (dissonant). Advances in solar instrumentation have led to a widespread usage of time series to study the dynamics of solar features, specially at small spatial scales and at very fast cadences. Physical processes at such scales are determinant as building blocks for many others occurring from the lower to the upper layers of the solar atmosphere and beyond, ultimately for understanding the bigger picture of solar activity. Anhydrous, dimeric vanadyl(IV) complexes of Schiff bases derived from [1+1] condensation of salicylaldehyde (or its derivatives) and anthranilic acid, have been synthesized from CH3CN and were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, EPR, absorption, TGA, cyclic voltammetry and room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. These complexes were found to be oxidized by air in polar solvents like MeOH and DMF to V-V products. The E(1/2) values were found to be around 660 mV indicating that the carboxylate group favours vanadyl(IV) binding when compared to the alkoxo-bound vanadium complexes. Vanadium-iron spinels with nanometric sizes have been synthesized by a soft chemistry route. This way of elaboration consists of a coprecipitation followed by thermal treatments at low temperatures. The last thermal annealing is performed under a reducing atmosphere in order to obtain the exact oxygen stoichiometry (four oxygen atoms for three metal atoms in AB 2 O 4 ). Because of the low temperatures used, very low oxygen partial pressures (between 10 -20 and 10 -30 Pa) have to be applied. For this purpose, a reducing setup has been used. It consists of H 2 /N 2 /H 2 O gas mixtures, creating a reducing atmosphere with low oxygen partial pressure. This atmosphere can be applied to a sample …

Objectives: To longitudinally describe prosocial behaviour development from childhood to adolescence, using multiple informants within Canadian and Italian samples. Method: Participants in Study 1 were 1037 boys from low socioeconomic status (SES) areas in Montreal, Canada, for whom yearly teacher and mother reports were obtained between the ages of 10 and 15. Participants in Study 2 were 472 children (209 girls) from Genzano, Italy, for whom yearly self and teacher reports were obtained between the ages of 10 and 14. The purpose of this study was twofold: (a) to contrast the prominent theoretical explanations of the rapid automatized naming (RAN)-reading relationship across languages varying in orthographic consistency (Chinese, English, and Finnish) and (b) to examine whether the same accounts can explain the RAN-spelling relationship. In total, 304 Grade 4 children (102 Chinese-speaking Taiwanese children, 117 English-speaking Canadian children, and 85 Finnish-speaking children) were assessed on measures of RAN, speed of processing, phonological processing, orthographic processing, reading fluency, and spelling.
