How to Engage Customers on TikTok?
2022
This research investigates the effects of marketer-generated content (i.e., emotional and rational), sounds, and influencers on digital customer engagement (i.e., likes and shares) on TikTok. Data were collected from 10 Indonesian food and beverage brands. The results confirm that emotional content generates more likes and shares than rational (i.e., informational and transactional) content. Conversely, rational (i.e., informational and transactional) posts receive more likes and shares than emotional posts. Additionally, original sounds and influencers positively influence likes and shares. This study advances social media and content marketing literature in three ways. First, this researc…
The Scandinavian Third Way as a Proposal for Sustainable Smart City Development—A Case Study of Aarhus City
2022
The practical implementation of the goals of smart sustainable cities has different forms. This paper explores an example of the Danish smart city Aarhus, through which the so-called ‘Scandinavian third way’ of smart city development is being proposed. The foundations of the ‘third way’ are directly derived from the Scandinavian tradition of cooperation; it is supposed to be an alternative to the more commercial American model and the more centrally-controlled Asian tradition. The paper aims to identify how the Scandinavian collaborative model has influenced the process of developing the smart city Aarhus, to analyse the proposed ‘Scandinavian third way’ …

Attitudes : Tendencies and Variations
2018
This chapter presents an overview of religiosity and attitudes to religious diversity in media and other public spaces based on a cross-Scandinavian survey conducted in 2015. Although Scandinavians in general have a weak personal connection to religion, Christianity still holds a privileged position as an expression of cultural identity. Scandinavians express support for equal rights to practice religion, but also doubtfulness towards public expressions of religion. More than one-fourth of respondents discuss news about religion and religious extremism regularly. There is a widespread sentiment that Islam is a threat to the national culture, even though most respondents state that they oppo…
Social geo-location platform "Waze" community and its behavior in real and simulated situations
2017
Shifting Long-Term Tillage to Geotextile Mulching for Weed Control Improves Soil Quality and Yield of Orange Orchards
2023
Weed control in urban and peri-urban orange orchards is challenging due to operational and legislative restrictions. Tillage, besides from negatively affecting soil fertility and microorganisms, is demanding for humans. On the other hand, herbicides are advised against due to the possibility to reach waterbodies from the soil surface. Therefore, in urban and peri-urban areas, instead of tillage and herbicides, mulching with black plastic geotextile fabric is often used. This study aimed at assessing the impact of long-term soil mulching with black plastic geotextile fabric on soil fertility, microbial community and yield of an orange orchard in comparison to conventional tillage. To this ai…
Does it exist a link between solidarity pushed up by coronavirus pandemic and the basic solidarity…
Sukupuoli tyttöjen ja poikien tarinoissa parisuhdeväkivallasta
2016
Tarkastelen tutkielmassa kuudes- ja yhdeksäsluokkalaisten tyttöjen ja poikien kirjoittamia fiktiivisiä ainekirjoituksia vanhempien välisistä parisuhdeväkivaltatilanteista. Ainekirjoitukset on kerätty eläytymismenetelmällä väkivaltatilannetta kuvaavien kehyskertomusten pohjalta. Kirjoituksia on yhteensä 89.
Effects of Positioning Aids on Understanding the Relationship Between a Mobile Map and the Environment
2013
Positioning technologies such as GPS enable mobile map applications to display a symbol representing an estimation of a user’s location on a mobile map, therefore acting as a positioning aid. Previous research on the cognitive processes involved in map reading suggests that map readers need at least two map–environment points (objects that are visualized on the map and perceived in the environment) for determining their location on a map. Hence, the positioning aid alone does not provide enough information for self-location. Using a field experiment, we assessed the effect of representing the user’s location on a map on the cognitive processes involved in self-location. The results show tha…
Changes in the flight paths of pigeons based on extended spatial landmarks: Poster
2021
The navigational behavior of birds is based on the spatial perception of the terrain over which they fly. Not only single reference points, but also continuous linear and areal objects can be visually perceived in flight and affect the flight path. In this work, we studied the features of the trajectories of pigeons during flights in order to identify the effect of discrete or continuous extended landmarks on spatial orientation. For this purpose we compared the GPS tracks of pigeons flying over weakly familiar terrain, and the visual features of this terrain, calculated on the basis of remote sensing data. Various cases of linear landmarks (alleys, rivers, roads) and boundaries between dif…
