Kohti Leanin mukaista ohjelmistotuotantoa

2015

Kilpailu globaaleilla markkinoilla ja Japanin toisen maailmansodan jälkeinen talouskriisi johtivat Toyotalla täysin uudenlaisen tuotantomenetelmän kehittämiseen. Tämä Toyotan tuotantojärjestelmä (TPS), joka sittemmin on tullut paremmin tunnetuksi Lean-ajatteluna, on otettu käyttöön useilla aloilla.Viime vuosina Lean-periaatteita on alettu soveltamaan myös ohjelmistotuotannossa. Kirjallisuudessa esiintyy kuitenkin erilaisia näkemyksiä siitä, mitä Lean- ohjelmistotuotannolla tarkoitetaan, millä tavalla Lean-periaatteita tulisi soveltaa ja miten Leanin mukaista toimintaa voidaan arvioida. Tämän kirjallisuuskatsauksen tarkoituksena on esitellä teollisuustuotannon ja ohjelmis…

Selective breeding for endurance running capacity affects cognitive but not motor learning in rats

2012

The ability to utilize oxygen has been shown to affect a wide variety of physiological factors often considered beneficial for survival. As the ability to learn can be seen as one of the core factors of survival in mammals, we studied whether selective breeding for endurance running, an indication of aerobic capacity, also has an effect on learning. Rats selectively bred over 23 generations for their ability to perform forced treadmill running were trained in an appetitively motivated discrimination-reversal classical conditioning task, an alternating T-maze task followed by a rule change (from a shift-win to stay-win rule) and motor learning task. In the discrimination-reversal and T-maze …

Organy na Śląsku Opolskim na łamach „Zeitschrift für Instrumentenbau”

2021

Periodicals remain a valuable source of information about the history of Silesian organ building. Particularly from the nineteenth century on, numerous publications appeared in the general press that were dedicated to music and the various manifestations of musical life including issues from the field of instrumentology. Professional periodicals dealing with this topic also started to appear. The periodical “Zeitschrift für Instrumentenbau”, which was founded by Paul de Wit in 1880 and appeared until 1943, certainly belonged to this group of publications. It devoted much space to the issues of organ building. Starting from the thirteenth year of publication, it included even a permanent sec…

Intrinsic Lipschitz Graphs and Vertical β-Numbers in the Heisenberg Group

2016

The purpose of this paper is to introduce and study some basic concepts of quantitative rectifiability in the first Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}$. In particular, we aim to demonstrate that new phenomena arise compared to the Euclidean theory, founded by G. David and S. Semmes in the 90's. The theory in $\mathbb{H}$ has an apparent connection to certain nonlinear PDEs, which do not play a role with similar questions in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$. Our main object of study are the intrinsic Lipschitz graphs in $\mathbb{H}$, introduced by B. Franchi, R. Serapioni and F. Serra Cassano in 2006. We claim that these $3$-dimensional sets in $\mathbb{H}$, if any, deserve to be called quantitatively $3$-rectifi…

C1,α-regularity for variational problems in the Heisenberg group

2017

We study the regularity of minima of scalar variational integrals of $p$-growth, $1<p<\infty$, in the Heisenberg group and prove the H\"older continuity of horizontal gradient of minima.

Oryginalne pojęcia pneumatologiczne w Kościelnej dogmatyce Karla Bartha

2019

Artykuł wyjaśnia kilka podstawowych pojęć, które Karl Barth w swojej słynnej Kościelnej Dogmatyce proponuje zastosować w nauce o Duchu Świętym. Po wstępnej charakterystyce myśli reformowanego teologa, punkt drugi prezentuje pojęcie „sposób bytowania” („Seinsweise”). Tym pojęciem chciałby on zastąpić pojęcie „osoby” Ducha Świętego.

Increased dosage of Ink4/Arf protects against glucose intolerance and insulin resistance associated with aging

2013

Recent genome-wide association studies have linked type-2 diabetes mellitus to a genomic region in chromosome 9p21 near the Ink4/Arf locus, which encodes tumor suppressors that are up-regulated in a variety of mammalian organs during aging. However, it is unclear whether the susceptibility to type-2 diabetes is associated with altered expression of the Ink4/Arf locus. In the present study, we investigated the role of Ink4/Arf in age-dependent alterations of insulin and glucose homeostasis using Super-Ink4/Arf mice which bear an extra copy of the entire Ink4/Arf locus. We find that, in contrast to age-matched wild-type controls, Super-Ink4/Arf mice do not develop glucose intolerance with agi…

Activation of the p38MAPK cascade is associated with upregulation of TNF alpha receptors in the spinal motor neurons of mouse models of familial ALS.

2005

Phosphorylated p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK), but not activated c-jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK), increases in the motor neurons of transgenic mice overexpressing ALS-linked SOD1 mutants at different stages of the disease. This effect is associated with a selective increase of phosphorylated MKK3-6, MKK4 and ASK1 and a concomitant upregulation of the TNFalpha receptors (TNFR1 and TNFR2), but not IL1beta and Fas receptors. Activation of both p38 MAPK and JNK occurs in the activated microglial cells of SOD1 mutant mice at the advanced stage of the disease; however, this effect is not accompanied by the concomitant activation of the upstream kinases ASK1 and MKK3,4,6, while both …
