Disappearance of malachite green residues in fry of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) after treatment of eggs at the hatching stage
2009
Abstract The disappearance of malachite green (MG) residues was determined in fry of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) after six repeated treatments of the eggs at the hatching stage with MG oxalate at exposure levels of 1, 3 and 6 mg l− 1 for 30 min. Fry samples were taken from newly hatched fry (0 days post-hatch, d.p.h.) and at regular time intervals at 16, 31, 43, 57 and 96 d.p.h. The residues of MG and its major metabolite, leucomalachite green (LMG), were found to accumulate in the fry after MG treatments of eggs, with the highest residue levels being determined in the newly hatched fry. After exposures of 3 mg l− 1 MG, mean concentrations of 1170 ± 106 µg kg− 1 and 276 ± 38.6 µg kg…

2019
“Sārmu metālu piemaisījumu ietekme uz amorfa silīcija dioksīda optiskajām īpašībām”. Leimane M., zinātniskie vadītāji M.Sc.Chem. Bite I. un docente Dr.Chem. Ancāne I. Bakalaura darbs, 63 lapas, 41 attēli, 6 tabulas, 62 literatūras avoti, 6 pielikumi.
Nanosensor for Sensitive Detection of the New Psychedelic Drug 25I-NBOMe.
2020
[EN] This work reports the synthesis, characterization, and sensing behavior of a hybrid nanodevice for the detection of the potent abuse drug 25I-NBOMe. The system is based on mesoporous silica nanoparticles, loaded with a fluorescent dye, functionalized with a serotonin derivative and capped with the 5-HT2A receptor antibody. In the presence of 25I-NBOMe the capping antibody is displaced, leading to pore opening and rhodamine B release. This delivery was ascribed to 5-HT2A receptor antibody detachment from the surface due to its stronger coordination with 25I-NBOMe present in the solution. The prepared nanodevice allowed the sensitive (limit of detection of 0.6 mm) and selective recogniti…
First description of non-motile Yersinia ruckeri serovar I strains causing disease in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), cultured in Spain.
2006
Yersinia ruckeri, the causal agent of enteric redmouth (ERM) disease, was isolated from epizootics that occurred in different Spanish rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), farms in which vaccination against ERM had been performed. In all episodes, the most pronounced clinical signs exhibited by affected fish were severe haemorrhages in the mouth, eyes and around the vent. The isolates were identified as Y. ruckeri serovar I by 16S rRNA sequencing together with serological tests. They lacked motility and lipase activity and thus belonged to biotype 2, and were highly virulent for juvenile rainbow trout, both by intraperitoneal injection (from 3.1 x 10(2) to 6.3 x 10(3) cfu per fish) …
Modulate research effort in inbound alliance
2014
We address the R&D supply chain where a customer wants to sign an R&D contract with a supplier in an inbound open innovation style. Supplier has to decide how much effort put on contract: effort is assumed as nonobservable then it cannot be constrained contractually. We model the R&D process like a staged one, which allows for both an early contract and a late one. The overall committed effort depends on the alliance timing: earlier contracts will ask for a greater cumulated effort although they offer risk-sharing opportunity. On the other hand, later contracts see supplier with a stronger ex-ante bargaining power position, due to shorter (and then less risky) contract length and experience…
Colombeau Algebras and convolutions generated by self-adjoint operators
2017
The role of convolution of functions in the construction of Colombeau algebras of generalized functions is analyzed, with particular referring to the commutative relation with the derivation operator. The possibility to consider the A-convolution, with A an unbounded self-adjoint operator in Hilbert space, is discussed. K
The completion of a C*-algebra with a locally convex topology
2006
There are examples of C*-algebras A that accept a locally convex *-topology t coarser than the given one, such that Ae[t] (the completion of A with respect to t) is a GB*-algebra. The multiplication of A[t] may be or not be jointly continuous. In the second case, Ae[t] may fail being a locally convex *-algebra, but it is a partial *-algebra. In both cases the structure and the representation theory of Ae[t] are investigated. If A[t+] denotes the t-closure of the positive cone A+ of the given C*-algebra A, then the property A[t]+ \cap (−A[t]+) = {0} is decisive for the existence of certain faithful *-representations of the corresponding *-algebra Ae[t].
eNOS Activation by HDL Is Impaired in Genetic CETP Deficiency.
2014
Mutations in the CETP gene resulting in defective CETP activity have been shown to cause remarkable elevations of plasma HDL-C levels, with the accumulation in plasma of large, buoyant HDL particles enriched in apolipoprotein E. Genetic CETP deficiency thus represents a unique tool to evaluate how structural alterations of HDL impact on HDL atheroprotective functions. Aim of the present study was to assess the ability of HDL obtained from CETP-deficient subjects to protect endothelial cells from the development of endothelial dysfunction. HDL isolated from one homozygous and seven heterozygous carriers of CETP null mutations were evaluated for their ability to down-regulate cytokine-induced…

Vertical distribution of two sympatric labrid fishes in the Western Mediterranean and Eastern Atlantic rocky subtidal: local shore topography does ma…
2011
Changes in the shore topography (e.g. slope) occur at a scale of hundreds of meters in several locations in the Lusitanian and the Mediterranean Sea provinces. We tested whether differences in the bottom inclination might affect the vertical distribution patterns of two sympatric coastal labrid fishes, the rainbow wrasse Coris julis and the ornate wrasse Thalassoma pavo. Visual censuses were used to determine the distribution and abundance of these labrid species in high (‡30 ) and low (£3 ) slope rocky substrates covered by brown macroalgae and at two different depths (shallow, 4‐7 m, and deep 14‐20 m). Pectoral fin aspect ratio was used as an estimate of swimming performance to potentia…
