Almost all of these errors are unintentional and come from incorrect prescriptions, unsuitable dosages for the patient or incompatibility with other treatments. By considering the tourist experience as a complex dynamic system, in this paper we depict the traveler as a kybernetes (κυβeρνήτης is the ancient Greek word for ‘sea captain’, ‘steersman’, or ‘governor’) in search of powerful tools to help him or her to obtain directions in the mare magnum of complexity, overcoming the fear of action and taking decisions. We focus our attention on the key role of Near Field Communication technology and mobile wallet as ‘attenuators of complexity’ in the travel and tourism industry.

The EU’s Role in International Climate Change Policy-Making: A Global Leader in Decline?

This chapter assesses the European Union’s (EU) role in international climate change policy-making by comparing the EU’s degree of goal attainment at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations in Copenhagen in 2009 and Cancun in 2010. By making use of three analytical factors (coherence, the opportunity structure and politicisation) we assess the outcomes of both negotiations for the EU. The Durban negotiations of 2011 are touched upon in the conclusions.

Mobiilit päätelaitteet ja niitä käyttävien kuluttajien määrä on lisääntynyt nopeasti viime vuosien aikana, mikä tuo uusia mahdollisuuksia erilaisille mobiilin maksamisen sovelluksille. Tässä tutkielmassa paneuduttiin kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla Near Field Communication -teknologian eli NFC:n ominaisuuksiin sekä NFC-maksamiseen liittyvien mahdollisuuksien ja haasteiden erityispiirteisiin käyttäjän näkökulmasta. Abstract: Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) films have potential as oxygen barriers for, e.g., food packaging applications, but their use is limited by their hygroscopic characteristics. The three-dimensional microstructure of NFC films made of Pinus radiata (Radiata Pine) kraft pulp fibres has been assessed in this study, considering the structural development as a function of relative humidity (RH). The surface roughness, micro-porosity, thickness and their correlations were analyzed using X-ray microtomography (X–μCT) and computerized image analysis. Atbilstoši likuma grozījumiem likumā “Par nodokļiem un nodevām” nepieciešams izstrādāt elektronisko darba laika uzskaites sistēmu kura izpilda visas likuma grozījumā minētās prasības. Likuma grozījumi paredz, ka jebkurā būvobjektā, kura kopējā pasūtījuma summa pārsniedz 1 miljonu eiro, Elektroniskās darba laika uzskaites sistēma ir obligāta prasība, pretējā gadījumā valsts ieņēmumu dienests uzņēmumam piemēro naudas sodu. Darbā aprakstīta lietotāja saskarnes izstrāde un ārējā NFC lasītāja sasaiste ar “Elektronisko darba laika uzskaites sistēmu”, jeb EDLUS, kas ir jau pastāvošs produkts, kas jau tiek izmantota Latvijā esošu būvobjektu darba laika uzskaitē. Darba izstrādes mērķis bija: uzlabot šīs sistēmas tīmekļa saites pārskatāmību, pielāgot vietnes izskatu mobilajām ierīcēm ar responsīvu dizainu, uzlabot vietnes paziņojumu attēlošanu un izstrādāt risinājumu ārējo USB NFC lasītāju sasaistei ar sistēmu. Šis risinājums jau tiek izmantots sistēmas Android lietotnes izstrādē un izstrādātā lietotāju saskarne tiek pielietota gatavajā produktā.

Šajā kvalifikācijas darbā ir izstrādāta Mifare 1k bezkontakta karšu pārvaldīšanas lietojumprogramma datoriem ar Windows operētājsistēmu. Šī lietojumprogramma ir izveidota c# programmēšanas valodā un tā sastāv no vairākām daļām, kas veic katra savu funkciju. Pirmā daļa ir paredzēta darbinieku identificēšanai ar bezkontakta kartes palīdzību un to autorizēšanai sistēmā. Otrā daļa ir paredzēta alpīnisma torņa instruktoriem, lai tie varētu pārvaldīt alpīnisma torni un tā klientus. Klientiem tiks izsniegtas Mifare 1k bezkontakta aproces, ar kurām tos varēs identificēt un attiecīgi sākt un beigt viņu kāpienu alpīnisma tornī.
