Resumen: Este artículo compara cuatro migraciones caribeñas hacia las cuatro metrópolis que dominan el Caribe hoy. Se trata de las migraciones desde territorios no-independientes del Caribe: desde Martinica/Guadalupe hacia Francia, Puerto Rico hacia los Estados Unidos, Surinam/Caribe Holandés hacia Holanda y Caribe Británico hacia el Reino Unido. El artículo no solamente compara los procesos de emigración sino también los procesos de incorporación al llegar a las cuatro metrópolis. “Replicative stress” is one of the main factors underlying neoplasia from its early stages. Genes involved in DNA synthesis may therefore represent an underexplored source of potential prognostic markers for cancer. To this aim, we generated gene expression profiles from two independent cohorts (France,n= 206; United Kingdom,n= 117) of patients with previously untreated primary breast cancers. We report here that among the 13 human nuclear DNA polymerase genes, DNA Polymerase θ (POLQ) is the only one significantly up-regulated in breast cancer compared with normal breast tissues. Este artículo analiza la intensa corriente de contrabando de seda valenciana hacia Castilla, que se desarrolló durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVI. Entre otros factores, la creación del nou imposit de la seda en 1552 incentivó esta actividad ilícita, que llegó a convertirse en un modo de vida en las principales regiones productoras (especialmente la Ribera del Júcar) y un motivo constante de litigio para las autoridades, incapaces de frenar este tráfico ilícito. En este artículo estudiamos la difusión de esos ideales entre los oficiales del ejército de la Monarquía hispánica en los diversos reinos de la España Mediterránea. Goal: However, the project presented here tries, on the one hand, to focus their objectives on very specific perspectives that are linked to a matter of absolute actuality in the field of humanities research, the construction of power. From that perspective, it aims to analyze the use of the death as an instrument of power and representation by the dominant elites in society and in the articulation of collective political and cultural values. It also aims to orientate from a line of clear interdisciplinary work (history, art, literacy, philosophy, music, epigraphy, codicology, anthropology ect.), that can build a broader interpretive prism and deeper analysis.

Objectives: The aim of this survey was to determine how a sample of dentists working in general dental practice in the UK sought to restore the mouths of patients who had shortened dental arches (SDAs). Study design: A survey was conducted over a period of six months on four commercial dental laboratories. Cases of SDAs comprising the anterior teeth and 2 to 4 premolars were examined; dental prescriptions were scrutinized and a special data collection form was completed accordingly. Results: A total of 140 SDA cases were examined. Most of these cases were for mandibular SDAs (88.6%). Two second sons of the Stuart dynasty who came as unexpected heirs to the throne lost their crown in depositions . Both of these kings, Charles I and James II , had a strong belief in a personal kingship over loyal subjects, which was at odds with the English concept of King-in-Parliament and the possibilities for subjects to participate in the rule of the kingdom. Charles I and James II lacked the natural confidence of born kings, and both tried to overcome this deficiency by overemphasizing their royal dignity. In doing so, they never realized that the generally accepted idea of a divine right of kings was to be articulated and represented, but not implemented in politics.
