Karakterisering og rensing av tunnelvann

2019

Masteroppgave bygg BYG508 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 This Project is a master thesis. The report is an addition to the preliminary project, which was made in the autumn of 2018. The research question of this project is: "How to solve the challenges related to polluted tunnel water?”During the project period a wide range of different methods dealingwith particle containing tunnel water has been studied. Analyses of coagulant chitosan have also been carried out. Sedimentation characteristics with a varied concentration of chitosan were analysed involvingsedimentation rate, suspended solids (SS), turbidity and particle analyses. A qualitative survey was also conducted to four respondents. Al…

Integrated drawingless workflow from design to installation

2021

Master's thesis in Civil and structural engineering (BYG508) In this master thesis, a methodology for demonstrating both the traditional and the digitalization of reinforcement production’s process for a structural system in an apartment building has been investigated. The purpose of this thesis is the workflow of reinforcementsprocess from the model to assembly on-site. AutoCAD as the traditional and Tekla/Revit as the digital with more focus on the reinforcement processes. Reinforcement in the structure is performed in both AutoCAD and Tekla. The ETABS have been used to analyse sections andto get out the quantities and volumes of reinforcements through this project. The first beam on gird…

Inkludere CO2-regnskap i 3D-modellen for veibyggingsprosjekter

2018

Masteroppgave bygg BYG508 - Universitetet i Agder 2018 For decades, Norwegian roads were constructed and planed by use of printout drawings. Today, as projects increase in scope and complexity, road construction has become a highly collaborative effort, with multiple disciplines working together to fulfil strict regulation requirements. It is due to this development that usage of digital tools in road and infrastructure engineering is more common. This master thesis takes a closer look at today’s possibilities in digital road construction design and on potential of expanding the usability by applying modern software development. Mainly, two separate cases have been investigated, a country r…

Bruk av FEM-modellering til kapasitetsundersøkelser av momentoverførende knutepunkter i stål

2021

Master's thesis in Civil and structural engineering (BYG508) Eurocode 3 provides a rough analytical method to estimate the capacity of a steel joint by derivingthe overall behavior from its components. Numerical methods such as the finite element method(FEM) enable accurate simulation of joint behavior. However, there is no direct guidelines inthe Eurocodes for utilizing numerical methods to document the capacity of moment-resisting steeljoints. This master thesis investigates how FEM can be used to evaluate and document the capacityof such joints. A literature review that includes relevant normative documentation and researcharticles dealing with the use of FEM has been carried out and a s…

Comparison of Different Construction Methods for Multi‐Storey Timber Buildings

2018

Master's Thesis Civil and Constructional Engineering BYG508 - University of Agder 2018 In this master thesis, different timber materials and construction methods are examined concern‐ing the application in multi‐storey timber buildings. Although wood as a construction material has many advantages, it is today only used very little for larger constructions, concrete and steel dominate the building industry. Planners and engi‐neers are often lacking necessary expertise to utilise timber in a modern, effective way. In order to promote the development of modern, efficient multi‐storey timber buildings, the goal of this master thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the wood’s chara…

Bestandighetsstudie av Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) : En forskning om påvirkningen av rissvidde, overdekning og eksponeringsmiljø med hensy…

2020

Master's thesis in Civil and structural engineering (BYG508) Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) was developed in research to increase the strength and durability of concrete. The material has shown remarkable ductility, durabilityand strength properties in laboratory tests, but has not beenmuch tested in practice. This master thesis presents an experiment to investigate the durability of UHPC in two marine environments in view of the risk of rebar corrosion. Factors under consideration are cover depth and crack width to observe how this will influence the penetration of aggressive substances that can cause corrosion. To investigate the corrosion state and chloride content, electrochemic…

"Treatment is of primary importance, and social assistance is secondary": A qualitative study on the organisation of tuberculosis (TB) care and patie…

2018

Background Vulnerable individuals with tuberculosis (TB) struggle to access and stay on treatment. While patient-related and social barriers to TB treatment adherence are well documented, less is known about how the organisation and delivery of TB care influences adherence behaviour. Aim To examine the influence of TB service organisation and culture on patients’ experience of starting and staying on treatment in Riga, Latvia. Methods An intervention package to support adherence to TB treatment amongst vulnerable patients in Riga, Latvia was piloted between August 2016 and March 2017. Qualitative observations (5), interviews with staff (20) and with TB patients (10) were conducted mid-way a…
