This paper presents a feasibility study on how to implement power quality (PQ) metrics in a low-cost smart metering platform. The study is aimed at verifying the possibility of implementing PQ monitoring in distribution networks without replacing existing smart metering devices or adding new modules for PQ measurements, thus zeroing the installation costs. Impact of non-programmable distributed generation in an islanded microgrid: the case study of Ustica

The paper presents a systematic analysis of nonprogrammable distributed generation impact in an islanded microgrid Different issues have been analyzed, with a special focus on the most significant ones in a small islanded network. To this aim, the case study of Ustica island was considered A digital twin of the MV network was developed starting from the network topology data and the power measurement acquired in each secondary substation. Simulations were then performed in the hypothesis of a large increment of distributed generation installation into the network. A discussion is then reported on which are the main technical issues to be faced in the considered case study.

Propsilocerus akamusi (Diptera: Chironomidae) is a dominant macroinvertebrate species in many eutrophic lakes in subtropical and temperate zones. P. akamusi larvae can migrate deep into the sediment (>30 cm) during summer where is no oxygen. However, to our knowledge, the specific adaptive tactics of its tube-dwelling life (>30 cm) and underlying mechanisms why this species is favored by nutrient-rich lakes remain limited. Nest predation affects breeding site choice, and has been suggested to drive niche segregation and local coexistence of species.
