Risk-Reducing Gynecological Surgery in Lynch Syndrome: Results of an International Survey from the Prospective Lynch Syndrome Database.

Purpose: To survey risk-reducing hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO) practice and advice regarding hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in women with Lynch syndrome. Methods: We conducted a survey in 31 contributing centers from the Prospective Lynch Syndrome Database (PLSD), which incorporates 18 countries worldwide. The survey covered local policies for risk-reducing hysterectomy and BSO in Lynch syndrome, the timing when these measures are offered, the involvement of stakeholders and advice regarding HRT. AbstractOver 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain (CP), which causes more disability than any other medical condition in the U.S. at a cost of $560-$635 billion per year (IOM, 2011). Opioid analgesics are frequently used to treat CP. However, long term use of opioids can cause brain changes such as opioid-induced hyperalgesia that, over time, increase pain sensation. Also, opioids fail to treat complex psychological factors that worsen pain-related disability, including beliefs about and emotional responses to pain. Nepareizi veikta manikīra procedūra, kuras laikā tiek apgriezts eponihijs, var izraisīt nagu infekciju vai vīrusu slimību. Šī darba mērķis ir izprast nagu kopšanas tendences Latvijā un noskaidrot manikīra meistaru un viņu klientu, kā arī aptiekās strādājošo farmācijas speciālistu izpratni par naga vienības anatomiju un nekorekti veiktas manikīra procedūras sekām. Pētījumam tika izmantota anketēšana un saņemtas 307 derīgas anketas.
