A linear amphoteric poly(amidoamino acid), L-ARGO7, is prepared by Michael-type polyaddition of L-arginine with N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide. Chain-extension of acrylamide end-capped L-ARGO7 oligomers with piperazine leads to high-molecular-weight copolymers in which L-arginine maintains its absolute configuration. Acid/base properties of L-ARGO7 polymers show isolectric points of ≈10 and positive net average charges per repeating unit at pH = 7.4 from 0.25 to 0.40. These arginine-rich synthetic polymers possibly share some of the unique biological properties of polyarginine cell-permeating peptides. Tutkimukseni käsittelee Friedrich Nietzschen poliittista ja filosofista ajattelua. Olen rakentanut Nietzschen poliittisesta filosofiasta kokonaistulkinnan. Tulkinnassa olen pyrkinyt osoittamaan keskeisien postmodernien Nietzsche-tulkintojen olevan mitä suuremmassa määrin vastakkaisia tekemälleni Nietzsche-luennalle, jota pidän uskollisempana Nietzschen kokonaisajattelua tarkastellen. Assessment of sleep disturbances with the athlete sleep screening questionnaire in Chinese athletes.

This study investigated the factors that are associated with sleep disturbances among Chinese athletes. Sleep quality and associated factors were assessed by the Athlete Sleep Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ, n ​= ​394, aged 18–32 years, 47.6% female). Sleep difficulty score (SDS) and level of sleep problem (none, mild, moderate, or severe) were used to classify participants' sleep quality. Categorical variables were analyzed by Chi-square or fisher's exact tests. An ordinal logistic regression analysis was used to explore factors with poor sleep (SDS ≥8). Nitrate is a natural constituent of the human diet and an approved food additive. It can be partially converted to nitrogen monoxide, which induces vasodilation and thereby decreases blood pressure. This effect is associated with a reduced risk regarding cardiovascular disease, myocardial infarction, and stroke. Moreover, dietary nitrate has been associated with beneficial effects in patients with gastric ulcer, renal failure, or metabolic syndrome. Cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for insomnia among shift workers: RCT in an occupational health setting

Abstract Introduction The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for insomnia (CBT-I) to that of a sleep hygiene intervention in a randomized controlled design among shift workers. We also studied whether the features of shift work disorder (SWD) affected the results. Darbs sastāv no ievada, teorētiskās, praktiskās daļas, nobeiguma un pielikuma. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek analizēta literatūra par handbolu un minihandbolu. Kā arī par skolēnu vecumposmiem, sīkāk pievēršot uzmanību pusaudžiem. Praktiskajā daļa ir apkopoti Latvijas handbola treneru aptauju rezultāti, sīkāk apskaidrots, kas ir integrēšana un kā tā tika veikta diplomdarba ietvaros Rīgas vidusskolā, kas ir atspoguļota ar darba autora izveidotajiem testiem.

Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments

We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…

Tutkielmassa esitellään Poissonin yhtälö sekä sen diskretointi. Lisäksi käydään läpi kaksi nopeaa numeerista menetelmää yhtälön ratkaisemiseksi. Yksinkertaisuuden vuoksi rajoitutaan kaksiulotteisiin tehtäviin, joissa on voimassa Dirichle’t reunaehto. Ensimmäinen menetelmistä on monihilamenetelmä, joka on iteratiivinen menetelmä, ja toisena syklinen reduktio, joka on suora menetelmä.
