A multi-disciplinary team is currently working on trachyte, a volcanic rock from the Chaîne des Puys (French massif central), within a research program supported by the French ministry of Culture. Pantelleria Island is the type locality of pantellerite, an iron and alkali-rich rhyolite (P.I=molar Na2O+K2O/Al2O3 >1.05). Peralkaline rhyolites (i.e pantellerite and comendite) and trachytes usually represent the felsic end-members in continental rift systems (e.g., Pantelleria, Tibesti, Ethiopia, Afar, Kenya, Bain and Range, South Greenland) and in oceanic sland settings (Socorro Is., Easter Is., Iceland and Azores). The subject of the study are the infinitive subordinate clauses (ICP). These infinitive structures, introduced by a perception verb like voir (‘see’), regarder (‘watch’), entendre (‘hear’), écouter (‘listen’) and sentir (‘smell’), are composed of two complements: a noun phrase and a verb infinitive (j’entends les oiseaux chanter ‘I hear birds sing’). We are interested in ICP in a French-Polish traductological perspective. Grounded in phraseology and corpus linguistics, this paper aims to explore the use of bilingual lexical bundles to improve the degree of naturalness and textual fit of translated texts. More specifically, this study attempts to identify lexical bundles, that is, recurrent sequences of 3–7 words with similar discursive functions in a purpose-designed comparable corpus of English and Polish patient information leaflets, with 100 text samples in each language. Because of cross-linguistic differences, we additionally apply a number of formal criteria in order to filter out the bundles in each subcorpus. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt universālo vērtību dimensiju saistību ar pašcieņu un iekļaut trauksmi kā iespējamo mediātoru starp šiem mainīgajiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 244 respondenti vecumā no 18 – 87 gadiem (M = 39,33; SD = 13,96) no tiem 61% sieviešu un 39% vīriešu. Pētījums ir korelatīvi aprakstošs. Pētījumā izmantotas Švarca Portretu vērtību aptauja 21 (Portrait Values Questionnaire PVQ, Schwartz, 1992), Rozenberga pašcieņas aptauja (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Rosenberg,1965) un Trauksmes stāvokļa – iezīmes pašnovērtējuma anketa (“Self – Evaluation Questionaire”/STAI/, Spielberger, 1983).
