Tiesību normu laika aspekti tiesiskā un demokrātiskā valstī
2015
Multitranslation within the Catalan and Valencian standards: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone as a case in point
2010
First of all, a definition of multitranslation is given and a selective classification of the main multitranslated products in Catalan is offered. After that, multitranslation is contextualised within the sociology of translation. Then the polysystem of Catalan translation is analysed together with the linguistic, the politicoeconomical and the communicative‐cultural cosystems which influence multitranslation. Next, I present the multitranslation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone into Valencian and a comparative analysis of both the Catalan and the Valencian versions. Then, I review the reception of the Valencian version in the academic and literary spheres. Finally, the relations…
Déni du travail et tyrannie des normes
2012
Based on the example of two quality processes deployed at the SNCF in the field of the service encounter, the aim of this article is to explore, from a clinical point of view, organizational mechanisms which encourage the denial of work. The norms of services previously defined contributed to the front office agents' denial of work, essentially because the respect of these norms became an ultimate finality. This situation has induced an "annoyed activity" (CLOT, 2009) among the front office agents, owing to the fact that the norms have been perceived as a hindrance to the accomplishment of a high-grade work. In the two previous practical examples, the reality (of work), the real work (in op…
Aksjologiczny wymiar rodzicielstwa
2016
Honest mistake or perhaps not: The role of descriptive and injunctive norms on the magnitude of dishonesty
2021
Trivial acts of dishonesty are very prevalent in everyday life and have severe economic and societal consequences. The present study aims to examine the role of descriptive and injunctive norms in minor and major dishonesty under ambiguity. We devised a novel experimental design in which rule violations can be the result of honest mistakes or various dishonest processes. In this ambiguous context, we observed a high prevalence of minor rule violations at baseline. In two experiments, exposure to increased peer cheating (i.e., negative descriptive norms) promoted major rule violations, whereas the presence of explicit or subtle rule reminders (i.e., injunctive norms) marginally reduced minor…
How Chinese Auditors' Relativistic Ethical Orientations Influence Their Love of Money
2013
Love of Money (LMOS) theory is well developed and widely used in studying people’s beliefs about money (Luna-Arocas & Tang 2004). This study examines the views of 612 Chinese auditors and establishes that the ideological positions adopted influence how they regard money and that these positions are related to underlying cultural norms. Forsyth’s (1980) EPQ is used to establish a viable model, which establishes that relativism strongly influences Chinese auditors” attitudes towards money and has important implications in terms of the impact on the accounting profession in that rapidly growing nation. peerReviewed
2020
Contemporary cities have administrations increasingly marked by urban planning guidelines that are guided by business and marketing and, to attract investments and tourists, implement strategies that aim to homogenize, spectacularize and control urban space. However, other experiences in the city potentially build new meaning to it, which would escape those strategically planned, creating alternative possibilities of uses, diverging from the way thar are predicted and proposed by the governmental power in their urban marketing strategies. The article discusses how the occupation of urban spaces by transvestites for prostitution may imply reflections on the role of norms of gender in the (re…
LE JUGEMENT PROFESSIONNEL EN AUDIT : ENQUETE AUPRES DES ASSOCIES SIGNATAIRES
2013
The audit process is dependant on facts and concepts but it is also contingent on specific situations. Contingency is not only material, it is also ontological. We suggest that audit process is questionable only since its process is neither perfectly knowledgeable nor deterministic. Audit process is strongly dependant on the judgment faculty, i.e. the capacity to relate facts, norms, concepts and human moral values. Through 22 interviews with associate auditors, we present a complex picture of the professional judgment and the factors that affect or shape its exercise. In order to enhance the audit judgment, we suggest to reinforce the information and the communication of the elements relat…
2016
The right of the Palestinian people to liberate themselves from foreign occupation in the name of the principle of self-determination has played, and is playing today, a central role in the resolution of the Arab-Israeli problem, representing a real catalyst principle in a process which, unfortunately, remains unfinished. The question today revolves around the fulfilment of an obligation to negotiate conventionally accepted by the parties, considered without alternative by the international community, but which in practice translates into a right of veto over the exercise of self-determination, contradicting the inalienable nature of this principle. Self-determination thus becomes negotiabl…
