La adaptación al EEES conlleva, entre otros cambios, el fomento de la movilidad de los estudiantes. Ello implica que en la docencia se contemple el papel que representa, como competencia transversal, el dominio de otras lenguas, a fin de competir con estudiantes de otros países europeos. Este artículo es resultado de un proyecto de innovación didáctica en el que planteamos, junto a otras actividades, realizar una encuesta a los estudiantes sobre percepción del dominio de lenguas extranjeras e importancia concedida para su futuro profesional. Los resultados muestran una brecha importante que lleva a plantear medidas que consigan acercar el grado de importancia al de dominio.
