Objective To survey rheumatologists' preferences for the choice of a second-line disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) after inadequate response with methotrexate (MTX) therapy in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Thirty-six rheumatologists stated their preferences for RA treatment after inadequate response with MTX therapy (optimal dose at least 6 months). From the initial scenario, we derived 54 vignettes varying by rheumatoid factor or anti–cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody presence, swollen joint count, Disease Activity Score in 28 joints, and structural damage. Abstract Background There are reports of the familial occurrence of Kawasaki disease but only a few reports described Kawasaki disease in siblings. However, the familial cases were not simultaneous. In these patients the idea of infective agents as trigger must be considered. Online collaborative problem-solving tasks were piloted in five Finnish schools participating in the Assessment and Teaching of Twenty-first Century Skills (ATC21STM) project. Process stream data from online tasks were captured from 480 Finnish students who explored dyad problem spaces. The log file data were explored to identify indicative behaviours of collaborative problem solving (CPS), which were coded into a series of dichotomous indicators. In this dissertation the relationship between visual symbols and creative thinking is studied through visual, textual and conceptual analysis. The first part of the work focuses on the concept of symbol, the second part on the imagery of Edvard Munch (1863–1944), and the third part on creative thinking. The problematics of visual symbols is approached through the concept of metabolism by assuming that both perceivable and non-perceivable properties of symbols can transform when symbols are used. We present a new sample of 84 large angular size radio galaxies selected from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey. Radio sources with declination above +60 degrees, total flux density greater than 100 mJy at 1.4 GHz and angular size larger than 4 arcmin have been selected and observed with the VLA at 1.4 and 4.9 GHz. The radio observations attempt to confirm the large angular size sources and to isolate the core emission for optical identification. In this paper, the first of a series of three, we present radio maps of 79 sources from the sample and discuss the effects of the selection criteria in the final sample. 37 radio galaxies belong to the class of giants, of which 22 are reported in this paper …
