Properties of the Nafion membrane impregnated with hydroxyl ammonium based ionic liquids

In this work, the Nafion 112 membrane impregnated with nine various hydroxyl ammonium based ionic liquids have been investigated. The used ionic liquids were combined from hydroxyl ammonium cations (2-hydroxyethylammonium/HEA, bis(2- hydroxyethyl)ammonium/BHEA, tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium/THEA) and carboxylate anions (formate, acetate, lactate). The membranes are characterized by conductivity and thermal stability measurements. It was found, that almost all composites have 10 times higher ion conductivity than a pure Nafion 112 at 90 ?C in ambient environment due to the higher thermal stability. Surface modification of graphite+polymer composite and ITO electrodes by Nafion®+cupromeronic phthalocyanine films

Abstract The surface of indium tin oxide (ITO) and graphite+polymer composite electrodes can be modified by Nafion ® films containing a little amount of dispersed electroactive substances, such as phthalocyanines. This procedure allows the recovery of electroanalytical information on the electroactive deposited substance. The preparation methods for these types of modified electrodes are discussed from the voltammetric results obtained in this work. The Nafion ® net acts as a permeable membrane to the hydrogen ions. Furthermore, the presence of methylviologen within the Nafion ® film makes the electron transport throughout this membrane easy.
Protonus vadošu uz Nafion polimēra balstītu kompozītmateriālu sintēze un pētījumi izmantošanai degvielas šūnās

Kurināmā elementi izraisa lielu interesi, jo ļauj pārveidot degvielu (piemēram, ūdeņradi, metanolu, metānu) bez Karno cikla ierobežojumiem, sasniedzot augstu lietderības koeficientu. Polimēru elektrolīts ļauj izveidot kurināmā elementu, kas strādā pie pietiekami zemām temperatūrām, optimālām izmantošanai portatīvo enerģijas avotu un autotransporta jomās. Izstrādājot šo darbu, uz protonus vadošā polimēra (Nafions) bāzes sintezēti jauni paraugi, pievienojot polimēram oksīdus, kas ļauj uzlabot materiāla spējas vadīt protonus pie paaugstinātām temperatūrām un relatīvā mitruma zem 100%.
