La communication interculturelle des vietnamiens francophones en insertion professionnelle : éthiques culturelles et coopération
2011
This thesis studies the professional integration in Vietnam of French-speakers in terms of communication. The study context involves French recruiters and Vietnamese candidates in authentic recruitment situations. Introduction presents an overview of the problem: if, as declared by E.T. Hall, culture and communication are the same phenomenon viewed under two particular facets, is it possible for French recruiters and Vietnamese candidates to communicate in order to understand, get along with each other, and reach agreement ? How can communication be viewed in the situation of cultural differences? In fact, cultural codes facilitate communication only when they are shared. The paradox is tha…
Modelling of electromagnetic heating and mixing conditions in glass melt output equipment
2011
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the outlet of a special glass melting system, which is used to control melt flow and modify flow pattern.Design/methodology/approachNumerical calculations in ANSYS and ANSYS CFX were used to study electromagnetic, thermal, hydrodynamic and chemical mixing processes, results are validated by comparison with experimental data.FindingsObtained results show that investigated approach can improve glass melt chemical homogeneity significantly – Lorentz force driven melt movement in conjunction with diffusion process ensures good mixing quality.Research limitations/implicationsThe mixing in glass melt is present only in azimuthal direction (in cyl…
On "Explicandum" versus "Explicatum"
2011
The aim of this paper is twofold. First of all I want to present some old ideas revisited in the light of some of the many interesting new developments occurred in the course of these last ten years in the field of the foundations of fuzziness. Secondly I desire to present a tentative general framework in which it is possible to compare different attitudes and different approaches to the clarification of the conceptual problems arising from fuzziness and soft computing. In the paper, then, I shall use some names as banners to indicate a (crucial) problem (i.e., Carnap’s problem, von Neumann’s problem, Galileian science, Aristotelian science and so on). As it will be clear by reading the pap…
Two-Dimensional Carbon: A Review of Synthesis Methods, and Electronic, Optical, and Vibrational Properties of Single-Layer Graphene
2019
Graphite has been widely used by humans for a large part of their history. Nevertheless, it has only recently been possible to isolate its basic unit: carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb structure on a single plane, namely graphene. Since its discovery, many techniques have been developed and improved to properly synthesize graphene and its derivatives which are part of the novel class of two-dimensional materials. These advanced materials have imposed themselves in nanotechnology thanks to some outstanding physical properties due to their reduced dimensions. In the case of graphene, its reduced dimension gives rise to a high electrical mobility, a large thermal conductivity, a high mechan…
Zero viscosity limit of the Oseen equations in a channel
2001
Oseen equations in the channel are considered. We give an explicit solution formula in terms of the inverse heat operators and of projection operators. This solution formula is used for the analysis of the behavior of the Oseen equations in the zero viscosity limit. We prove that the solution of Oseen equations converges in W1,2 to the solution of the linearized Euler equations outside the boundary layer and to the solution of the linearized Prandtl equations inside the boundary layer. © 2001 Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

Modified Landau levels, damped harmonic oscillator and two-dimensional pseudo-bosons
2010
In a series of recent papers one of us has analyzed in some details a class of elementary excitations called {\em pseudo-bosons}. They arise from a special deformation of the canonical commutation relation $[a,a^\dagger]=\1$, which is replaced by $[a,b]=\1$, with $b$ not necessarily equal to $a^\dagger$. Here, after a two-dimensional extension of the general framework, we apply the theory to a generalized version of the two-dimensional Hamiltonian describing Landau levels. Moreover, for this system, we discuss coherent states and we deduce a resolution of the identity. We also consider a different class of examples arising from a classical system, i.e. a damped harmonic oscillator.

The viscosities of moderately concentrated solutions of poly(butyl methacrylate)—Mw = 1820 kg/mol–in the thermodynamically good solvent toluene and in the theta solvent 2-propanol were measured up to pressures of 2000 bar as a function of shear rate in the temperature interval from 40 to 70°C. Both systems obey Graessley's equation so that it is possible to obtain the following rheological parameters in addition to the zero-shear viscosity η0 from the dependences . η can be split into an entanglement part ηent plus a frictional contribution ηfric, and the characteristic viscometric relaxation time τ0 becomes accessible. The present results demonstrate that the application of pressure raises…
Design, characterization and evaluation of hydroxyethylcellulose based novel regenerable supersorbent for heavy metal ions uptake and competitive ads…
2017
Abstract Hydroxyethylcellulose succinate-Na (HEC-Suc-Na) was designed and evaluated for removal of some heavy metal ions from aqueous solution. Pristine sorbent HEC-Suc-Na was thoroughly characterized by FTIR and solid-state CP/MAS 13C NMR spectroscopy, SEM-EDS and zero point charge analyses. Langmuir isotherm, pseudo second order kinetic and ion exchange models provided best fit to the experimental data of sorption of metal ions. Maximum sorption capacities of supersorbent HEC-Suc-Na for sorption of heavy metal ions from aqueous solution as calculated by Langmuir isotherm model were found to be 1000, 909.09, 666.6, 588 and 500 mg g−1 for Pb(II), Cr(VI), Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II), respectiv…
Application of conductometric and pH metric measurements in determining the kinetics and equilibrium parameters of the heterophasic ion exchange: Met…
2019
The application possibilities of conductometric and pH metric measurements in the description of the process of heterophasic ion exchange have been analysed, between metal cation (Zn, Cu) - proton, which occurs according to the formula, M+ + HR ⇄ H+ + MR, where R is an anion permanently bound in the sorbent. Kinetic models of the pseudo-first and pseudo-second order reactions, as well as the Langmuir isotherm model which describes the process equilibrium, have been used in mathematical presentations. It was confirmed that conductometric and pH metric measurements are equally effective in the assessment of such processes' parameters, in comparison with the expensive method of determining met…
