Background Titanium is a less studied trace element in dental enamel. Literature relates an increased Titanium concentration with a decreased enamel crystal domain size, which in turn is related to a higher color value. The aim of our study was to analyze the effect of tooth bleaching agents on its concentration in dental enamel by means of confocal Raman spectroscopy. Experimental study of the long range interactions between a Na (3S) and a Rb (5S) atom

Transitions to near asymptotic levels of the a3Σ+ and the X1Σ+ electronic states in NaRb were recorded by high resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy technique. The hyperfine splitting of the a3Σ+ state levels was analysed. The application of coupled channels calculations is discussed for determination of accurate potential energy curves of the a3Σ+ and the X1Σ+ states capable for reliable description of cold collisions between a Na and a Rb atoms in their ground states.
Orientation-Dependent Handedness of Chiral Plasmons on Nanosphere Dimers: How to Turn a Right Hand into a Left Hand

Optical activity, which is used as a discriminator of chiral enantiomers, is demonstrated to be orientation dependent on individual, and nominally achiral, plasmonic nanosphere dimers. Through measurements of their giant Raman optical activity, we demonstrate that L/R-handed enantiomers can be continuously turned into their R/L-handed mirror images without passing through an achiral state. The primitive uniaxial multipolar response, with demonstrable broken parity and time reversal symmetry, reproduces the observations as resonant Raman scattering on plasmons that carry angular momentum. [Cu2(amdt)2]SiF6·C6H6 and [Cu2(amdt)2(H2O)2]SiF6·CH3CN·2H2O (amdt = 2-allylamino-5- methyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole) were obtained by alternating-current electrochemical synthesis, starting from water–acetonitrile–benzene mixtures containing 2-allylamino-5-methyl-1,3,4- thiadiazole and CuSiF6·4H2O. The electrochemical reduction of the saturated copper hexafluorosilicate water solution beneath the neatly poured layer of acetonitrile-benzene amdt solution resulted in the formation of crystalline [Cu2(amdt)2]SiF6·C6H6. Towards an efficient meshfree solver

In this paper we focus on the enhancement in accuracy approximating a function and its derivatives via smoothed particle hydrodynamics. We discuss about improvements in the solution by reformulating the original method by means of the Taylor series expansion and by projecting with the kernel function and its derivatives. The accuracy of a function and its derivatives, up to a fixed order, can be simultaneously improved by assuming them as unknowns of a linear system. The improved formulation has been assessed with gridded and scattered data points distribution and the convergence has been analyzed referring to a case study in a 2D domain.
