Narrowed Family Spaces: Interlocking Couples in Intimate Partner Violence

Starting from a presentation of the phenomenon of intimate partner violence and of its various possible forms, this paper presents an overview of the most recent theoretical contributions on the topic, the dynamics of abuse in the couple and the main psychodynamic aspects that explain the possible manifestations and peculiarities of the effects of violence, both from the point of view of the abuser and the victim. Through the analysis of a life story, using two different measures, the authors focus their attention on the particular interlocking relationship of the couple that makes it difficult for the victim to pull himself or herself out of the perverse relationship and on the mechanisms …

Narratives of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder: A meta-analysis

Abstract Background The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze the narrative performance of children and adolescents with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in terms of microstructure, macrostructure and internal state language. Method A systematic literature search yielded 24 studies that met the predetermined inclusion criteria. Effect sizes for each study were calculated for eight variables and analyzed using a random effects model. Intellectual ability, age and type of narrative were considered as potential moderators. This paper studies the Encounter of Knowledge as a project that, by welcoming mestres and mestras of ancestral knowledge into universities, contributes to decolonize higher education, broadening its field of memory. Based on a systematization exercise, we established a theoretical dialogue with Bajtin and Bejamin.
