Milk thistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn.) is a versatile crop that has adapted to the broadly different soil and environmental conditions throughout all continents. Abstract Grassroots social innovations are citizen-led initiatives that develop bottom-up solutions to societal challenges. Alternative food networks (AFNs) are innovations which propose alternative schemes for distribution and consumption of food—such as community-based agriculture or food cooperatives—which can improve the well-being of participants. Drugie stanowisko prześwietlika platanowego Corythucha ciliata (Say, 1832) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Tingidae) na Górnym Śląsku

The sycamore lace bug Corythucha ciliata (Say, 1832) has a North American origin and is one of the most abundant and widespread pests on plane trees (Platanus spp.) across the globe. It has been introduced to Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa during the last sixty years. In Poland, it has been recorded since 2009 in 28 localities distributed in four of its southern zoogeographical regions. The present paper describes the second record of this species in Upper Silesia.

A study on the grammaticalization of deverbal, denominal and deadjectival prepositions in French out of Latin ablative absolute (AA) constructions has highlighted two main points of contact that could have allowed the process to take place: the preservation both of the original predicative quality and of the primal circumstantial syntactic function of the item-under-change. Digital generations, but not as we know them

The aim of this article is to see whether or not adolescents were the real leaders of the digital ‘revolution’ in the 1990s and whether they have sustained or even improved their position in the 2000s. The analysis is based on two surveys carried out in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain in 1996 ( N = 6609) and in 2009 ( N = 7255). The results show that the adolescents belonging to the first digital generation in 1996 were the most equipped with new technologies, although not the most intensive users. In 2009, the adolescents lost their position as the leading adopters and lagged behind youth and young adults regarding the use of new technologies and computer skills.

Based on an ethnographic approach, this paper explores how members of a new age spiritual movement known as ?Llave Mariana? (LLM) build and experience their bodies. At the same time, it develops a thick description of their ritual practices and later it analyzes, delving fundamentally into the phenomenological perspective, how these members shape and transform their forms of self-perception, experience, and representation of others and the environment. Finally, it considers the implications these spiritual practices have in the search and consolidation of alternative ways of being-in-the-world
