Kieliresurssit ja niiden väliset suhteet Pajalan ja Pykeijän kielimaisemissa

Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkastellaan Pajalan ja Pykeijän kylteissä esiintyvien kieliresurssien muodostamia kielimaisemia. Tavoitteena on selvittää, millaiset kielimaisemat kieliresurssien käytön perusteella Pajalaan ja Pykeijään muodostuu. Lisäksi tutkielmassa selvitetään Pajalassa esiintyvistä vähemmistökielistä meänkielen ja Pykeijässä kveenin kielen käyttöä kielimaisemissa. Vähemmistökielten kohdalla tarkastellaan niiden asemaa ja suhdetta muihin kielimaisemissa käytettyihin resursseihin nähden. The Winding Road to Accessing the Voices of One Thousand Schoolchildren : A Nexus Analysis of Collecting Data for a Survey

This article describes a nexus analysis of the lengthy, complex process of negotiating access to schools for a research project surveying 1,002 children (aged 9–12 years) about their digital and language practices. The analysis distinguished layers of adult-centered gatekeeping, each of which needed to be tackled in sequence. Bottlenecks particularly arose at the gatekeeping stage, in which superintendents of schools decided whether to grant research access to schools. In this paper I argue how nexus analysis (Scollon & Scollon, 2004), as a holistic, qualitative mode of inquiry, can offer a fruitful activist research approach to study international doctoral researchers. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitimme, millaisia ongelmatilanteita tohtoriopiskelijoiden monikanavaiseen seminaaritoimintaan sisältyi. Lisäksi tutkimme, millaisia seurauksia tilanteista aiheutui. Tutkimuksen teoreettismetodologisena viitekehyksenä käytimme neksusanalyysiä (Scollon & Scollon, 2004). The dissertation is concerned with the speeches of Vihtori Kosola (1884–1936), recruiter of jäger, strike breaker and activist. Kosola assumed the leadership of the Lapua Movement in 1929. His most significant speeches were delivered on the peasants’ march of 7 July 1930 and on the 15th anniversary of the war of independence on 16 May 1933. Kosola was a political speaker and the figurehead of the Patriotic people’s movement (IKL) founded in 1932. The Study focuses on Kosola’s speeches applying rhetorical-semantic concept analysis with regard to the changes occurring in the main concepts. Kieli-ideologiat ovat kieltä, sen käyttämistä ja käyttäjiä koskevia diskursiivisia määritelmiä ja kuvauksia. Vaikka kieli-ideologiat ovat juurtuneet historiallisiin käyttöyhteyksiin, ne ovat kuitenkin aina lokaalisesti tuotettuja ja yksilöllisesti koettuja. Ne siis rakentuvat sekä yksilöllisesti että yhteisöllisesti. Localness’ has gained currency as a source of authenticity and distinction in the niche marketing of the globalised new economy. This has created opportunities for peripheral minority language sites to capitalise on their geographically and culturally peripheral location, and has lifted tourism and handicraft industries to key sites of socio-economic development in these regions. This article examines children’s multimodal literacy practices in an indigenous Sámi language classroom in Northern Finland, with a speci$ c focus on multimodal picture books designed by the pupils. The position of the Sámi languages in people’s linguistic repertoires has changed dramatically during the past 60 years as they have turned into endangered languages with only few speakers. Consequently, there is very little printed material available and therefore few established literacy practices.
