Preparation of Nd:YAG Nanopowder in a Confined Environment

Nanopowder of yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG, Y3Al5O12) doped with neodymium ions (Nd:YAG) was prepared in the water/cetyltrimethylammonium bromide/1-butanol/n-heptane system. Aluminum, yttrium, and neodymium nitrates were used as starting materials, and ammonia was used as a precipitating agent. Coprecipitate hydroxide precursors where thermally treated at 900 degrees C to achieve the garnet phase. The starting system with and without reactants was characterized by means of the small-angle neutron scattering technique. Przedstawiono prostą metodę spektrofotometryczną w zakresie VIS, ilościowego oznaczania diftalocyjaniny neodymu, zarówno w surowych produktach reakcji syntezy jak i oczyszczonym materiale. Polega ona na pomiarach absorbancji badanych próbek w roztworze DMF przy czterech różnych długościach fal, tj. 500, 633, 671 i 800 nm. Zawartość diftalocyjaniny oblicza się z krzywej kalibracyjnej, przedstawionej w postaci równania liniowego.
Technical and economical comparison between NdFeB and hard ferrites linear electrical generators from sea waves

In this paper the authors perform a technical-economic comparison of two different Tubular Permanent Magnet Linear Machines for sea waves generation by using finite elements analysis. The first configuration includes ferrite rings while the second configuration includes neodymium-iron-boron rings. In order to compare the two types in economic and technical terms, a detailed analysis of the main figures of merit of the two configurations has been carried out. In particular, significant data such as flux distribution, rated voltage and current, axial force, electric power, realization cost and maintenance cost have been compared.
