Using Cloud, Modularity, and Make-to-Upgrade Strategy for Integrating Customized-Oriented Supply Networks

In the current global business individual demand play crucial roles. Customized-oriented supply networks are being proliferated in manufacturing industries, yet integration of their members is still quite challenging. As a practical solution, in this paper a new collaborative approach out of modularity structure, cloud computing, and a novel production strategy, called Make-to-Upgrade (MTU), is suggested. The complementary aspects of these techniques are highlighted and briefly explained here. MTU is as a strategy for future products with new characteristics, e.g., upgradability.

Mini-drones swarms and their potential in conflict situations

Drones are currently used for a wide range of operations, such as border surveillance, general surveillance, reconnaissance, transport, aerial photography, traffic control, earth observation, communications, broadcasting, and armed attacks. This paper examines the swarming and associated abilities to overwhelm a combatant as well as bring extra functionality by means of extra sensors spread throughout the swarm. The strategy of stealth is becoming increasingly less effective. Combatants can not only sense them, but can also successfully destroy them (although this cannot be said for nano-drones). The penetration depth of the magnetic field into an amorphous superconductor is calculated. The ratio of the London penetration depth δL to the electron free path le under zero temperature is above unity for almost all amorphous metals. That is why pure metals, in a superconducting state, change from type I superconductors to type II superconductors during the crystalline–amorphous transition.

In this work, a multi-agent system (MAS) for supply chain dynamic configuration is proposed. The brain of each agent is composed of a Bayesian Decision Network (BDN); this choice allows the agent for taking the best decisions estimating benefits and potential risks of different strategies, analyzing and managing uncertain information about the collaborating companies. Each agent collects information about customer's orders and current market prices, and analyzes previous experiences of collaborations with trading partners.
