The principal objective of this study is to generate mathematical regression equations that facilitate the estimation of the extent to which Eichhornia crassipes (C. Mart.) Solms, water hyacinth, absorbs heavy metals (HMs) into four plant organs (laminae, petioles, roots, and stolons). This study considers the absorption of nine HMs (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn), and the E. crassipes evaluated in this study were located in three irrigation canals in the North Nile Delta in Egypt, with sampling being conducted in both monospecific and homogenous E. crassipes. Polypeptide Markers Differentiating Juvenile and Adult Tissues in Chestnut

Differences were observed between the polypeptide contents of in vitro shoot cultures derived from upper branches (adult material) and basal shoots (juvenile material) of the same chestnut tree. Cultures derived from mature crown growth yielded two polypeptide bands that were not afforded by cultures derived from juvenile basal shoots. Since all cultures were derived from the same tree the polypeptide differences appear to reflect the ontogenetic age of the starting material.

We have isolated and characterized a cDNA encoding a major cuticle protein in Tenebrio molitor, named ACP-20. Our study aims to evaluate the time-dependent effects of cationic amino-modified PS-NH (50 nm) in A. franciscana after short- (48 h) and long-term exposure (14 days). Abstract Thiobencarb and propanil are two of the most extensive used herbicides worldwide in rice cultivation. Especially scanty is the available information regarding the effect of herbicides on fish energy resources. In the present study, the effect of sublethal exposure to these herbicides on the energy reserves of juvenile eel Anguilla anguilla was compared. Eels were exposed to 72 h to the herbicide thiobencarb (0.22 mg L −1 ) or Propanil (0.63 mg L −1 ), and allowed to recover in clean water (144 h). Attraverso lo studio della filmografia italiana degli anni Cinquanta, è possibile ricostruire le identità di genere che, in un tempo così attraversato da profonde trasformazioni, si andavano ridefinendo. Infatti, in questo periodo nasceva e si sviluppava il cinema di massa, che diventava il principale terreno di azione culturale: strumento di costruzione dell’identità collettiva ed esperienza condivisa che creava legami, esso era soprattutto uno spazio educativo.
