Toward Tin-Based High-Capacity Anode for Lithium-Ion Battery

Electrochemical deposition of SnCo alloys inside the nanometric pores of commercial membranes is described. Composition, morphology and crystallographic structure of the synthesized nanostructured alloys are reported as well as the results of electrochemical tests carried out both in half-cell and in full battery configuration to investigate the performance of these SnCo alloys as anodes for lithium-ion batteries. Optimized depositions yielded nanostructured alloys that performed 200 deep galvanostatic cycles at C/2 and 30 °C with 80 % capacity retention and coulombic efficiency higher than 97 % after 40 cycles Moreover, charge-discharge rate capability tests showed the high performance of …
Self-Powered IoT Device for Indoor Applications

This paper presents a proof of concept for selfpowered Internet of Things (IoT) device, which is maintenance free and completely self-sustainable through energy harvesting. These IoT devices can be deployed in large scale and placed anywhere as long as they are in range of a gateway, and as long as there is sufficient light levels for the solar panel, such as indoor lights. A complete IoT device is designed, prototyped and tested. The IoT device can potentially last for more than 5 months (transmission interval of 30 seconds) on the coin cell battery (capacity of 120mAh) without any energy harvesting, sufficiently long for the dark seasons of the year. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are groups of small devices that contain a microcontroller in which a large number of sensors can be added. They transmit data and communicate to each other in the ISM band, standard IEEE 802.15.4, exchanging packets using a multi-hop routing. These devices are named motes and are nodes of the WSN. They are very simple and easy to program, powered by batteries of 1.5Volts (AA and AAA). The nodes are autonomous elements that can be deployed implementing any type of network. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir veikt diskursa analīzi un noteikt leksiski stilistiskos izteiksmes līdzekļus un to lomu ES institucionālajā diskursā, ES Darbības programmā “Izaugsme un nodarbinātība”. Šajā pētījumā uzsvars likts uz ES institucionālo diskursu, izmantojot diskursa analīzi kā pētniecības metodi un analizējot leksiski stilistisko izteiksmes līdzekļu komunikatīvo nolūku. Along this line, we consider a binary competitive contagion process where two infections, A and B, interact with each other and diffuse simultaneously in a network. We investigate which is the best centrality measure to find out the seed nodes a company should adopt in the presence of rivals so that it can maximize its influence. Solvent-Dependent Self-Assembly of an Oxalato-Based Three-Dimensional Magnet Exhibiting a Novel Architecture.

The old but evergreen family of bimetallic oxalates still offers innovative and interesting results. When (Me4N)3[Cr(ox)3]·3H2O is reacted with Mn(II) ions in a nonaqueous solvent, a novel three-dimensional magnet of the formula [N(CH3)4]6[Mn3Cr4(ox)12]·6CH3OH is obtained instead of the one-dimensional compound obtained in water. This new material exhibits an unprecedented stoichiometry with a binodal (3,4) net topology and the highest critical temperature (TC = 7 K) observed so far in a manganese-chromium oxalate based magnet.
