Hidden Markov Model Based Machine Learning for mMTC Device Cell Association in 5G Networks

Massive machine-type communication (mMTC) is expected to play a pivotal role in emerging 5G networks. Considering the dense deployment of small cells and the existence of heterogeneous cells, an MTC device can discover multiple cells for association. Under traditional cell association mechanisms, MTC devices are typically associated with an eNodeB with highest signal strength. However, the selected eNodeB may not be able to handle mMTC requests due to network congestion and overload. Multicell power allocation method based on game theory for inter-cell interference coordination

As a new technology, coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmission is included in LTE-Advanced study item. Moreover, the network architecture in LTE-Advanced system is modified to take into account coordinated transmission. Under this background, a novel power allocation game model is established to mitigate inter-cell interference with cellular coordination. In the light of cellular cooperation relationship and centralized control in eNodeB, the power allocation in each served antenna unit aims to make signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) balanced among inter-cells. Introduction of Multiflow for HSDPA

This paper introduces a multi-cell transmission scheme for High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) networks, called Multiflow. In this concept, downlink data is transmitted to a user terminal at the border of two cells from one or both of the cells. The cells may belong to same NodeB or to two different NodeBs. The data flows are separated by different scrambling codes used by each associated cell, thus the flows can be treated independently.
