Traceless chirality transfer from a norbornene β-amino acid to pyrimido[2,1-a]isoindole enantiomers

Abstract The synthesis of two enantiomeric pairs of pyrimidoisoindoles 9a, 9b and 10a, 10b is reported. During a domino ring-closure reaction, followed by cycloreversion, the chirality of diendo-(−)-(1R,2S,3R,4S)-3-aminobicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-ene-2-carboxamide [(−)-1] was successfully transfered to heterocycles (+)-9a, (+)-10a, (−)-9b, (−)-10b and (−)-10c.

The aspects of molecular-structure and biological conversion have been studied for 12 derivatives of the endosulfan ether 1 [4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8- hexachloro- 1, 3, 3a, 4, 7, 7a- hexahydro- 4, 7-methanoisobenzofuran]. Adults of a normal house-fly strain (Musca domestica) have been used in the assay. Derivatives of 1 monosubstituted in position I are found to be converted substantially faster than products disubstituted in position I and 3, respectively. Metabolism is inhibited for all compounds studied after application of piperonyl butoxide as a synergist. Wpływ wybranych parametrów na efektywność katalizowanej wanadocenem kopolimeryzacji etylenu z norbornenem i właściwości otrzymanych produktów

W pracy zbadano wpływ parametrów reakcji na kopolimeryzację etylenu z norbornenem wobec katalizatora wanadocenowego (Cp2VCl2) w obecności trichloroctanu etylu (ETA). Przeprowadzono serię reakcji kopolimeryzacji, zmieniając w każdej z nich jeden z parametrów reakcji: temperaturę lub ciśnienie etylenu. Następnie zbadano temperaturę zeszklenia, stopień wbudowania norbornenu i mikrostrukturę otrzymanych kopolimerów, poddając je analizie DSC oraz spektroskopii 13C NMR. Kopolimery cyklicznych olefin (COCs) stanowią obiecującą grupę materiałów o specyficznych, możliwych do zaprojektowania właściwościach. Szczególnym zainteresowaniem w tej grupie związków cieszą się kopolimery etylenu z norbornenem. Do ich syntezy stosuje się różnorodne kompleksy metali przejściowych, przede wszystkim pierwiastków z grupy 4. Artykuł stanowi przegląd literatury dotyczącej wykorzystania katalizatorów wanadowych z różnego rodzaju ligandami w syntezie kopolimerów etylenu z norbornenem. Opisano wpływ ligandów i warunków prowadzenia reakcji na aktywność oraz wybrane właściwości otrzymanych kopolimerów.

Chemoselective, Substrate-directed Fluorination of Functionalized Cyclopentane β-Amino Acids

This work describes a substrate-directed fluorination of some highly functionalized cyclopentane derivatives. The cyclic products incorporating CH2 F or CHF2 moieties in their structure have been synthesized from diexo- or diendo-norbornene β-amino acids following a stereocontrolled strategy. The synthetic study was based on an oxidative transformation of the ring carbon-carbon double bond of the norbornene β-amino acids, followed by transformation of the resulted "all cis" and "trans" diformyl intermediates by fluorination with "chemodifferentiation".

Diels–Alder reaction of β-fluoro-β-nitrostyrenes with cyclic dienes

The Diels–Alder reaction of β-fluoro-β-nitrostyrenes with cyclic 1,3-dienes was investigated. A series of novel monofluorinated norbornenes was prepared in up to 97% yield. The reaction with 1,3-cyclohexadiene permits the preparation of monofluorinated bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-enes. The kinetic data of the reactions with 1,3-cyclopentadiene and 1,3-cyclohexadiene were used to calculate activation parameters. Furthermore, the synthetic utility of the cycloadducts obtained was demonstrated.

Naturally Occurring Oxazole Structural Units as Ligands of Vanadium Catalysts for Ethylene-Norbornene (Co)polymerization

1,3-Oxazole and 4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazole are common structural motifs in naturally occurring peptides. A series of vanadium complexes were synthesized using VCl3(THF)3 and methyl substituted (4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)-1,3-oxazoles as ligands and analyzed using NMR and MS methods. The complexes were found to be active catalysts both in ethylene polymerization and ethylene-norbornene copolymerization. The position of methyl substituent in the ligand has considerable impact on the performance of (co)polymerization reaction, as well as on the microstructure, and thus physical properties of the obtained copolymers.

Dioxomolybdenum(VI) and -Tungsten(VI) Amino Bisphenolates as Epoxidation Catalysts

Low-cost metallate salts Na2MO4·2H2O (M = molybdenum, tungsten) react with a tridentate amine bisphenol bis(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylbenzyl)methylamine (H2ONOtBu) under ambient conditions in acidic methanol solutions. The reactions lead to the formation of isostructural dioxo complexes [MO2(ONOtBu)(MeOH)]·MeOH in convenient yields. Spectral data as well as X-ray analyses reveal these complexes to be isostructural.
