Tutkimus käsittelee kielikuvien argumentatiivisuutta belgialaisen artistin Stromaen toisen studioalbumin Racine carrée sanoituksissa. Aineistoksi valittiin kyseinen albumi sillä perusteella, että se on saavuttanut suurta suosiota ympäri maailmaa myös maissa, joissa ranska ei ole virallinen kieli. Tarkoituksena on saada selville, kuinka Stro-mae käyttää sonoriteettien toistoa tuodakseen esille näkemyksensä asioista, joita hän käsittelee kappaleissaan. The artide presents a local initiative of the German minority in Chrząstowice, which encourages children and youths to pursue a two-way activity, that is learning a minority language and actively spending free time outdoors. The author describes the functions of supporting minority languages and the parents’ motivation to let their children attend classes at the football academy. The study was conducted using the following research methods: individual in-depth interview (IDI) with the founder of the football academy and a ąuestionnaire survey filled in individually by the parents.

A small outcrop of mafic rocks, located between the Permian-Triassic sediments of the Cenozoic tectonic unit of the Maghrebian chain in Western Sicily, is an olistolith made up of olivine gabbronorite within diabase. Textures, microprobe analyses, and major and trace element geochemistry confirm the co-genetic nature of the various rocks: the gabbronorite is the result of olivine and orthopyroxene accumulation, with interstitial clinopyroxene and plagioclase, in a framework of a gabbrodioritic diabase. For decades, soil geography has beenmainly a qualitative and descriptive discipline. There are nowtechnologies and mathematical tools available that allow formalizing soil geography in more quantitative terms. In this paper, the distribution and diversity of the soils of Europe are analyzed using GIS tools and pedodiversity algorithms. Soil data were taken from the European Soil Database (V2.0) and computed within the spatial framework of the Biogeographical Regions of Europe (BGRE) as defined by the European Environmental Agency (EEA) on the basis of climate and vegetation. Šajā darbā kritiski izvērtēta grupu tiesību izpratne Vila Kimlikas filozofijā. Vispārējā cilvēktiesību deklarācija bija nozīmīgs mēģinājums aizsargāt minoritāšu tiesības. Tomēr cilvēktiesības nav spējīgas atbildēt uz virkni jautājumu, kas izriet no kultūrdaudzveidības. Šajā darbā tiek pamatots, ka tradicionālās cilvēktiesības ir nepieciešams papildināt ar grupu tiesībām. Turklāt tiek izvērtētas Kimlikas teorijas praktiskā pielietojuma iespējas Latvijā.

PurposeThis paper discusses the challenges that two doctoral researchers faced while researching religious minorities and women in a culturally sensitive society such as Pakistan. Their shared interest in sensitive topics related to gender and minorities in Pakistan led both researchers to collaborate in this study to provide a better understanding of issues in qualitative research in the same research context. They discuss the challenges of interviewing participants within the educational context.
