Individuals often hold ambivalent attitudes (i.e., positive and negative attitudes at the same time) toward groups and social categories. The aim of the present research was to examine the differential effects of affective and cognitive dimensions of ambivalence on the (amplification of) responses towards a minority group. We asked 188 students from the University of Perugia to read a short description of a fictitious group of immigrants. Synthetic studies of neoclerodane diterpenoids from Salvia splendens and evaluation of opioid receptor affinity

Abstract Salvinorin A ( 1 ), a neoclerodane diterpene from the hallucinogenic mint Salvia divinorum , is the only known non-nitrogenous and specific κ-opioid agonist. Several structural congeners of 1 isolated from Salvia splendens ( 2 – 8 ) together with a series of semisynthetic derivatives ( 9 – 24 ), some of which possess a pyrazoline structural moiety ( 9 , 19 – 22 ), have been tested for affinity at human μ, δ, and κ opioid receptors. None of these compounds showed high affinity binding to these receptors. However, 10 showed modest affinity for κ receptors suggesting that other natural neoclerodanes from different Salvia species may possess opioid affinity.

In the case of stubborn set methods for safety properties, implementation of the condition is usually based on recognizing the terminal strong components of the reduced state space and, if necessary, expanding the stubborn sets used in their roots. Wavelet analysis and HHG in nanorings: their applica-tions in logic gates and memory mass devices

We study the application of one nanoring driven by a laser field in different states of polarization in logic circuits. In particular we show that assigning Boolean values to different states of the incident laser field and to the emitted signals, we can create logic gates such as OR, XOR and AND. We also show the possibility of making logic circuits such as half-adder and full-adder using one and two nanorings respectively. Using two nanorings we made the Toffoli gate. Finally we use the final angular momentum acquired by the electron to store information and hence show the possibility of using an array of nanorings as a mass memory device.

Lateral Fusion of Chemical Vapor Deposited N = 5 Armchair Graphene Nanoribbons

Bottom-up synthesis of low-bandgap graphene nanoribbons with various widths is of great importance for their applications in electronic and optoelectronic devices. Here we demonstrate a synthesis of N = 5 armchair graphene nanoribbons (5-AGNRs) and their lateral fusion into wider AGNRs, by a chemical vapor deposition method. The efficient formation of 10- and 15- AGNRs is revealed by a combination of different spectroscopic methods, including Raman and UV−visnear-infrared spectroscopy as well as by scanning tunneling microscopy. La sentenza in epigrafe si segnala all’attenzione perché chiarisce i presupposti di incriminazione del reato di atti osceni alla luce del d.lgs. 15 gennaio 2016, n. 8.
