Similar to various other diatopic varieties of German language, one finds numerous person names in Upper Silesian German, in which all possible qualities and modes of existence of the human being are focused and expressed. In the article attention is drawn once to the semantic classes oc-curring here, as well as to the types of nomination activated in the formation of the names, and then to the word formation types and the languages from which the morphemes forming the names were derived.
Reciprocal Relations between Work-Related Authenticity and Intrinsic Motivation, Work Ability and Depressivity: A Two-Wave Study

This study investigates the role of context-specific authenticity at work for work-related outcomes (intrinsic motivation, work ability) and depressivity. Furthermore reciprocal relations between work-related authenticity and healthy psychological functioning are investigated. Longitudinal data from 1,243 employees from 63 subsidiaries of a non-profit organization in the social sector were analyzed using multilevel structural equation modeling. Work-related authenticity at T1 predicted work ability and depressivity, but not intrinsic motivation at T2, about 6 months later. Work-related authenticity at T2 was predicted by intrinsic motivation and depressivity, but not by work ability at T1. …

Artykuł omawia dzieje wulgaryzmu ciul, który z dialektu śląskiego przeszedł do odmiany potocznej polszczyzny ogólnej. Po raz pierwszy wulgaryzm zapisano w 1875 r. w śląskich dokumentach sądowych. Leksem pochodzi z gwar czeskich (por. culík ‘warkocz, spleciona kępa włosów’) lub morawskich (culík ‘sopel’). Pierwotne znaczenie uległo metaforyzacji i zaczęło oznaczać ‘narząd męski, penis’. Wyraz ciul jako wulgaryzm zaczął być używany w funkcji wyzwiska, co dokumentują zapisy archiwalne. W różnych typach kontaktów owo obraźliwe określenie mężczyzny łatwo zmieniało semantykę i ekspresyjne zabarwienie, od ‘oszusta, szumowiny’ po ‘niedorajdę, głupka’. The COVID pandemic is forcing the renewal of scientific conferences, offering opportunities to introduce technological and inclusive developments. Our analysis focuses on the implementation of inclusive practices for female and early-career researchers in a virtual scientific conference. This organization approach was applied in the XIII Spanish Optical Meeting (RNO2021), which was also characterized by avatars interacting in an online metaverse. The effectiveness of inclusive policies and novel technological tools was evaluated using the participation data and a post-conference survey.
