Evidence for narrow Δ0(1232) states in the 12 C(e,e'pπ−}11 C Reaction
1999
The reaction 12C(e,e'Δ0)11C →12C(e,e'pπ−)11C was investigated at the Mainz Microtron MAMI in a triple coincidence measurement using the three spectrometer setup of the A1 Collaboration. The good missing mass resolution of σm= 0.27 MeV/c2 allowed to select the events belonging to the ground state of 11C. Cutting on these events the excitation energy spectra of 12CΔ0 show evidence for two peaks of about 4 MeV width (FWHM) at 282 MeV and 296 MeV with a significance of about 4.5 standard deviations. The peaks are interpreted in a simple weak coupling model as bound Δ0 states in 12CΔ0.
A new isomer in 125La
1999
Levels in 125La have been studied via β+/EC decay of on-line mass-separated 125Ce using the HIGISOL technique. A new (390 ± 40) ms isomer is definitely attributed to 125La by conversion electron measurements of the 107 keV E3 isomeric transition.
Half-lives and delayed neutron emission probabilities of short-lived Rb and Cs precursors
1979
Half-lives and delayed-neutron emission probabilities (P n ) of short-lived Rb and Cs precursors in the mass chains 94–98 and 143–147 were measured. Sources of isotope separated nuclides were obtained from the on-line mass-separator OSTIS installed at the Grenoble high-flux reactor.
Saturation of deformation atN=60 in the Sr isotopes
1990
From the halflife oft 1/2=3.91 (16) ns for the 21 + state in100Sr a deformation parameter ofβ=0.40(1) has been derived. Within the given uncertainties, this value is equal to the recently determinedβ-parameters for98Sr and99Sr, indicating that in the Sr isotopes saturation of deformation is reached immediately at its onset well before neutron midshell. This behaviour is reflected by the “twin” character of98Sr and100Sr with identical features of their unperturbed ground-state rotational bands. These observations are discussed in terms of strong two-nucleon interactions.
α-decay spectroscopy of the new isotopeAt192
2006
Decay properties of the new neutron-deficient nuclide $^{192}\mathrm{At}$ have been studied in the complete fusion reaction $^{144}\mathrm{Sm}$($^{51}\mathrm{V}$,3n)$^{192}\mathrm{At}$ at the velocity filter SHIP. Two isomeric states with half-lives of 88(6) ms and 11.5(6) ms, respectively, and with complex $\ensuremath{\alpha}$-decay schemes were identified in $^{192}\mathrm{At}$. The decay pattern of one of the isomers suggests that it is based on the oblate-deformed $\ensuremath{\pi}2{f}_{7/2}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\ensuremath{\nu}1{i}_{13/2}$ configuration, which confirms the expected onset of deformation in the At isotopes by approaching the neutron midshell at $N=104$.

Neutron-rich isotopes around the r-process ?waiting-point? nuclei 29 79 Cu50 and 30 80 Zn50
1991
Beta-decay half-lives (T1/2) and delayed-neutron emission probabilities (Pn) of very neutron-rich Cu to As nuclei have been measured, among them the new isotopes77Cu48,79Cu50,81Zn51 and84Ga53. With the T1/2 and Pn-values of now four N ∼-50 ”waiting-point” nuclei known, our hypothesis that the r-process has attained a local β-flow equilibrium araound A∼-80 is further strengthened.
Untersuchung der beiden ersten angeregten Zustände des Li6-Kernes durch Elektronenstreuung
1969
Inelastic electron cross sections for Li6 were measured using the facilities at the 300 MeV linear accelerator of the Institut fur Kernphysik in Mainz. The form factor for theC 2 transition to the 2.184 MeV level is given in the region of momentum transfer 0.4 fm−1<q<1.9 fm−1. It was possible to determine the form factor for the 3.562 MeVM 1 transition up toq=1.2 fm−1.
Microsecond isomers in 187Tl and 188Pb
2000
Lifetime measurements of states in nuclei with A=187 and 188 have been performed, using reactions between 155Gd and 36Ar and following the transport of evaporation residues to the focal plane of a gas-filled recoil separator. In a separate experiment using the 159Tb(32S, 4n) reaction the γ-decay of isomeric levels in 187Tl has been studied using delayed γ-γ coincidence measurements. From observation of their subsequent γ decay, the mean lifetimes were measured to be 1000 ± 55 ns and 1600 ± 100 ns. Although it was not possible to characterize the isomers completely, they are proposed as candidates for one-proton, two-neutron excitations. In the course of this study, the decay of an isomer in…
