Search for the pair production of scalar top quarks in the acoplanar charm jet final state in collisions at

A search for the pair production of scalar top quarks, {bar t}, has been performed in 360 pb{sup -1} of data from p{bar p} collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The {bar t} decay mode considered is {bar t} {yields} c{bar {chi}}{sub 1}{sup 0}, where {bar {chi}}{sub 1}{sup 0} is the lightest supersymmetric particle. The topology analyzed therefore consists of a pair of acoplanar heavy-flavor jets with missing transverse energy. Search for γγ→ηb in e+e− collisions at LEP 2

2002

A search for the pseudoscalar meson eta_b is performed in two-photon interactions at LEP~2 with an integrated luminosity of 699 pb^-1 collected at e+e- centre-of-mass energies from 181 GeV to 209 GeV. One candidate event is found in the six-charged-particle final state and none in the four-charged-particle final state, in agreement with the total expected background of about one event. Upper limits of Gamma_gammagamma(eta_b) * BR(eta_b -> 4 charged particles) 6 charged particles) < 132 eV are obtained at 95% confidence level, which correspond to 95% confidence level upper limits of 9.0% and 25% on these branching ratios.

Search for the Higgs Boson inH→WW(*)Decays inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96  TeV

We present a search for the standard model Higgs boson in H --> WW(*) decays with e+e-, e+/-mu-/+, and mu+mu- final states in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of square root of s = 1.96 TeV. The data, collected from April 2002 to June 2004 with the D0 detector, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 300-325 pb(-1), depending on the final state. The number of events observed is consistent with the expectation from backgrounds. Limits from the combination of all three channels on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching ratio sigma x BR(H --> WW(*) are presented.

φ production in annihilation at rest

Abstract We report on measurements of the branching ratios for φ production in p p annihilation at rest in H 2 gas. Branching ratios for φπ 0 , φη, φϱ 0 , φω and φπ + π − are determined for two data sets with different contributions of annihilations from S and P states of the p p system. The branching ratios are compared to corresponding annihilation modes where the φ is replaced by an ω meson. We conclude that φ production is in most reactions enhanced with respect to the expectation based on the OZI rule. In annihilations from the spin triplet ground state of antiprotonic hydrogen into φπ the OZI rule is violated dramatically.

Systematic measurements of the bohr-weisskpf effect at isolde

The hyperfine anomaly gives an insight into the coupling of spin and orbital magnetic moments in the nucleus. More precisely, the nuclear magnetization is expressible through the nuclear wave functions with which is tested not only the magnetic moment operator, but also the tensor product [s×C2]1. The experiment can then be expected to be of value in testing the nuclear structure theory. The greatest value of these measurements is gained when these are made systematically over a large number of isotopes. A new measurement of the neutron detection efficiency for the NaI Crystal Ball detector

We report on a measurement of the neutron detection efficiency in NaI crystals in the Crystal Ball detector obtained from a study of single π0 photoproduction on deuterium using the tagged photon beam at the Mainz Microtron. The results were obtained up to a neutron energy of 400 MeV . They are compared to previous measurements made more than 15 years ago at the pion beam at the BNL AGS.

Penning-trap mass measurements on 92, 94-98, 100Mo with JYFLTRAP

Penning-trap measurements on stable 92, 94-98, 100Mo isotopes have been performed with relative accuracy of \ensuremath1⋅10−8\ensuremath1⋅10−8 with the JYFLTRAP Penning-trap mass spectrometer by using 85Rb as a reference. The Mo isotopes have been found to be about 3keV more bound than given in the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2003 (AME03). The results confirm that the discrepancy between the ISOLTRAP and JYFLTRAP data for 101-105Cd isotopes was due to an erroneous value in the AME03 for 96Mo used as a reference at JYFLTRAP. The measured frequency ratios of Mo isotopes have been used to update mass-excess values of 30 neutron-deficient nuclides measured at JYFLTRAP. peerReviewed

High-accuracy mass determination of unstable cesium and barium isotopes

1999

Direct mass measurements of short-lived Cs and Ba isotopes have been performed with the tandem Penning trap mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP installed at the on-line isotope separator ISOLDE at CERN. Typically, a mass resolving power of 600 000 and an accuracy of $\delta \mbox{m} \approx 13$ keV have been obtained. The masses of $^{123,124,126}$Ba and $^{122m}$Cs were measured for the first time. A least-squares adjustment has been performed and the experimental masses are compared with theoretical ones, particularly in the frame of a macroscopic-microscopic model.
