New anomalous trajectory in Regge theory

We show that a new Regge trajectory with \alpha_{f_1} (0) \approx 1 and slope \alpha_{f_1}'(0) \approx 0 explains the features of hadron-hadron scattering and photoproduction of the rho and phi mesons at large energy and momentum transfer. This trajectory with quantum numbers P = C = +1 and odd signature can be considered as a natural partner of the Pomeron which has even signature. The odd signature of the new exchange leads to contributions to the spin-dependent cross sections, which do not vanish at large energy. The links between the anomalous properties of this trajectory, the axial anomaly and the flavor singlet axial vector f_1 (1285) meson are discussed.

Dynamically generated open and hidden charm meson systems

We will study open and hidden charm scalar meson resonances within two different models. The first one is a direct application of a chiral Lagrangian already used to study flavor symmetry breaking in Skyrme models. In another approach to the problem a SU(4) symmetric Lagrangian is built and the symmetry is broken down to SU(3) by identifying currents where heavy mesons are exchanged and suppressing those. Unitarization in couple channels leads to dynamical generation of resonances in both models, in particular a new hidden charm resonance with mass 3.7 GeV is predicted. The small differences between these models and with previous works will be discussed.

Neutrino Masses and Lepton Flavour Violation in Thick Brane Scenarios

We address the issue of lepton flavour violation and neutrino masses in the ``fat-brane'' paradigm, where flavour changing processes are suppressed by localising different fermion field wave-functions at different positions (in the extra dimensions) in a thick brane. We study the consequences of suppressing lepton number violating charged lepton decays within this scenario for lepton masses and mixing angles. In particular, we find that charged lepton mass matrices are constrained to be quasi-diagonal. Search for lepton-number violatingB+→X−ℓ+ℓ′+decays

We report on a search for eleven lepton-number violating processes B^+→X^−l^+l'^+ with X^−=K^−, π^−, ρ^−, K^(*−), or D^− and l^+/l'^+=e^+ or μ^+, using a sample of 471±3 million BB events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e^+e^− collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find no evidence for any of these modes and place 90% confidence level upper limits on their branching fractions in the range (1.5–26)×10_(−7).

Search for direct CP violation in D0→h−h+ modes using semileptonic B decays

A search for direct CP violation in D0 -> h- h+ (where h=K or pi) is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb^-1 collected in 2011 by LHCb in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The analysis uses D0 mesons produced in inclusive semileptonic b-hadron decays to the D0 mu X final state, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to tag the flavour of the D0 meson. The difference in the CP-violating asymmetries between the two decay channels is measured to be Delta A_CP = A_CP(K-K+) - A_CP(pi-pi+) = (0.49 +- 0.30 (stat) +- 0.14 (syst)) % . Searches for the baryon- and lepton-number violating decaysB0→Λc+l−,B−→Λl−, andB−→Λ¯l−

2011

Searches for $B$ mesons decaying to final states containing a baryon and a lepton are performed, where the baryon is either $\Lambda_c$ or $\Lambda$ and the lepton is a muon or an electron. These decays violate both baryon and lepton number and would be a signature of physics beyond the standard model. No significant signal is observed in any of the decay modes, and upper limits in the range $(3.2-520) \times 10^{-8}$ are set on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level.

Centrality dependence of multiplicities in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions

We compute the centrality dependence of multiplicities of particles produced in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions at various energies and atomic numbers. The computation is carried out in perturbative QCD with saturated densities of produced gluons and by including effects of nuclear geometry. Numbers are given for Au+Au collisions at RHIC energies.

Recent developments on hadron interaction and dynamically generated resonances

In this talk I report on the recent developments in the subject of dynamically generated resonances. In particular I discuss the $\gamma p \to K^0 \Sigma^+$ and $\gamma n \to K^0 \Sigma^0$ reactions, with a peculiar behavior around the $K^{*0} \Lambda$ threshold, due to a $1/2^-$ resonance around 2035 MeV. Similarly, I discuss a BES experiment, $J/\psi \to \eta K^{*0} \bar K^{*0}$ decay, which provides evidence for a new $h_1$ resonance around 1830 MeV that was predicted from the vector-vector interaction. A short discussion is then made about recent advances in the charm and beauty sectors.
