Nonostante ciò si è prestata scarsa attenzione alla situazione siciliana, in particolare alla città di Palermo. Il contributo intende sottolineare il ruolo che la produzione musicale riuscì a giocare nella proiezione concreta e metaforica delle voci delle donne nel mondo e nella società esterni. Ciò valeva sia per le istituzioni che si distinguevano per la clausura delle monache che ospitavano, sia per i conventi che sfidavano regole e regolamenti.
