Abstract Both commercial and home prepared TiO2 samples impregnated with tungstophosphoric acid (H3PW12O40) were prepared and used for the photo-assisted degradation of 2-propanol in gas–solid regime. The characterization results evidenced a good coverage of the polyoxometalate (POM) onto the surface of both types of TiO2 samples along with a marginal effect of the presence of ethanol or HCl during the POM impregnation step on the specific surface area, porosity, morphology, crystallinity and acidity of the samples. Defective apoptosis represents a major causative factor in the development and progression of cancer. The majority of chemotherapeutic agents, as well as radiation, utilize the apoptotic pathway to induce cancer cell death. Abstract A systematic survey of soil CO 2 concentrations was carried out on the flanks of Somma–Vesuvius volcano in order to constrain possible pathways responsible of carbon dioxide diffuse degassing taking place during the present state of quiescence. Measurements were performed at 1162 sites in late winter–spring 2000, highlighting that soil CO 2 concentrations range from 50 to 10500 ppmV. The clinical course of lung transplantation (LT) is diverse: some patients present chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) and progressive decline in pulmonary function, but others maintain normal spirometric values and active lives. H(II) centers in natural silica under repeated UV laser irradiations

We investigated the kinetics of H(II) centers (=Ge'-H) in natural silica under repeated 266nm UV irradiations performed by a Nd:YAG pulsed laser. UV photons temporarily destroy these paramagnetic defects, their reduction being complete within 250 pulses. After re-irradiation, H(II) centers grow again, and the observed recovery kinetics depends on the irradiation dose; multiple 2000 pulses re-irradiations induce the same post-irradiation kinetics of H(II) centers after each exposure cycle. The analysis of these effects allows us to achieve a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the centers during and after laser irradiation.

CO2 emissions are a global problem. This means that nothing or very little will change if only particular countries are involved. The purpose of this paper is the attempt to show the real CO2 emissions of the Poland as well as the impact of its trade on CO2 emissions in other countries in the world and in the EU in 2015. This study was conducted on the group of countries that are the major emitters of CO2 in the world including most of the EU members. Inorganic/organic hybrid nanoparticles synthesized in a two-step radiation-driven process

In this work, we have synthesized inorganic-organic hybrid nanoparticles via radiation synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles (Ag and CeO2) in aqueous dispersions containing radiation-synthesized poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) nanogels (NG). The experiments show that there are strong interactions between the inorganic precursors (Ag+ and Ce3+) and the nanogel prior to irradiation. The two hybrid systems (Ag/NG and CeO2/NG) were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD confirms the formation of crystalline Ag and CeO2.
