Master's thesis in Nordic languages and literature (NO500) The Language of Late Effects: Literary Representations of Late Effects after Cancer Treatment is a master’s thesis in Nordic literature. The thesis examines narratives about late effects after cancer. This literary genre is relatively new. Ina Nordic perspective, there can be traced a development in these kinds of narratives since 2015.Most of them are biographical/autobiographical or based on the authors’ own experiences. Through a study in an introductory class at Møglestu high school in Lillesand, I have looked at the use and benefit of digital language support of the mother tongue in the students' work with concepts from a textbook in Norwegian in social studies. The survey comprises texts written by students both from adult education centres and upper secondary schools. In this project, 103 exam writers participate and 84 out of these volunteered to answer a survey about writing. Masteroppgave nordisk språk og litteratur NO500 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 This thesis is an analysis of Sofi Oksanen’s novel Utrenskning [Purge] (2011), with a particular focus on what significance the various rooms convey in the narrative of trauma. Utrenskning relates stories of occupation, violence and abuse through three generations of Estonian women, and how this has led totrauma, fear, and damaged relationships. The study’s primary theory is that the novel interprets aspects of traumatic experiences through a spatial point of view.
